This comes just a few weeks after the launch of the Tucson 1.6 Turbo GDI petrol variant and it somehow completes the engine variants of the Tucson here. We now get the 2.0 normally aspirated petrol, the 1.6 turbo petrol and this 2.0 turbo diesel version. Something from everyone at a lower price as now all Tucson variants sold in Malaysia come with the tax lowering Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status.

MICHELIN at the Scania Driver Competitions South East Asia 2016-2017

The Scania Driver Competitions South East Asia 2016-2017 concluded recently and we've still got some stuff to mentioned about it. The final round of the inaugural Scania Driver Competitions South East Asia 2016-2017 (SDC) was held recently at MAEPS, in Serdang and saw some stiff competition between 19 Scania truck and bus drivers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Singapore. This is the first SDC that is truly regional as prior to this, it was only a Malaysia and Singapore affair. This makes things pretty interesting with added competitors and a chance to be crowned regional champion!

J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index for Mass Market Cars 2017 - Toyota is champion, Mitsubishi second and Mazda third, and Honda comes in last!

Okayyyyyyy.. J.D. Power, the well known impartial organisation that conduct customer satisfaction surveys have announced that Toyota is the best in customer service satisfaction for the second year running! This is followed by Mitsubishi and then Mazda with Honda, yes, Honda coming in last among the non-premium mass market passenger car makers in Malaysia. Congratulations is in order to all of the three for making their customers feel like the are very appreciated. Aside from that, let me just state again that Honda has come in last. Even Volkswagen is up by a whole lot from 2016.

The all-wheel-drive Quattro models, especially the A6 2.0 TFSI quattro fill in a gap in their respective local line-up - the A6 2.0 TFSI quattro sits between the A6 1.8 TFSI and the local range topper, the A6 3.0 TFSI quattro. The A7 Sportback 2.0 TFSI quattro now makes the Sportback proposition more affordable as previously only the 3.0 TFSI quattro variant was available here.

The Motoring-Malaysia Shorty - 2017 C238 Mercedes-Benz E300 Coupe AMG Line

Ten Malaysians to duke it out in the upcoming MediaCorp Subaru Car Challenge 2017 for a chance to win a Subaru XV 2.0i-P

Truck News: ISUZU Malaysia together with Sri Hoong Huat Auto Trading donate a complete Isuzu N-Series 5,000kg Truck to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society

Isuzu Malaysia had recently handed over an Isuzu N-Series 5,000kg truck to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) or the Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah for their use especially in the state of Pahang. The truck was presentedto the MRCS in a small ceremony where the CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Kenji Matsuoka who presented the mock key to Dato’ Hj Ismail Bin Hj Mat Noor, MRCS Chairman Pahang.

BMW Group Malaysia Reports Record Sales Numbers for its BMW iPerformance (Electric Powered) vehicles in Malaysia.

2017 will be remembered as the time where hybrid and electric powered vehicles started making major inroads in terms of sales volumes here in Malaysia. The BMW Group Malaysia had recently announced its performance figures for their iPerformance vehicles for the first half of 2017 and they've registered and sold over 2,300 units of their hybrid and electric powered vehicles. These make up the BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive40e and the BMW 740Le (which was only recently launched a few months ago) up to the month of June 2017.

I attended a briefing on the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2017 this morning. The event, which is organised by the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), the government agency that now charts the Malaysian automotive policies have announced that more than 80% of the exhibition space has been sold and the majority of the mass market brands will be participating . Some of the exhibitors that  have already confirmed their attendance are Proton, Perodua, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai, KIA, BMW, Volvo, Peugeot, Renault, and Land Rover. 

Perodua records 99,700 vehicles sold in First Half of 2017 - Looks to be on target to achieve 202,000 sales this year

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd or better known as Perodua sold 99,700 vehicles in the first six months of 2017, an increase of 2.4% compared to the same period last year of 97,400 units; with the PeroduaAxia as the number one model sold for the year so far. All Perodua models were number one in their respective segments with the Axia selling 32,600 units, followed by the Bezza at 28,300 units, Myvi 24,000 units and Alza with 14,700 units. They are still optimistic of achieving our initial sales target of 202,000 this year.

Well, Michelin Malaysia has just launched its ‘Tyres Are Not Bananas” educational campaign to focus emphasis on tyre quality and care instead of the preoccupation with the date of manufacture of a tyre. According to Michelin, numerous research had shown that performance was not solely based on the age of a tyre.

Spotted For Sale: 1990 (Most Likely) Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v - A rally car collector's dream

I spotted this 1990 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v for sale at the Evolve Shopping Mall a few days ago. This is a super rare rally special. Those as old as I am would know what this car is. This is a rally car that won  46 world rally championship events, and also a run of six successive WRC manufacturers' championships which remains a world record to this day. 

Motorsport: Tengku Djan wins at the King of Nations Drift Pro Series Round 6

Tengku Djan Ley has come out tops at the King of Nations Drift Pro Series Round 6 which was held over the past weekend. Tengku Djan beat out 31 other drivers from countries like Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand in order to secure the top spot in the final round of the competition.
