Volkswagen Passengers Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has finally launched the new 2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line in Malaysia. The launch was done a live telecast on its social media channels as we are still in a pandemic lockdown sort of situation here in the Klang Valley right now. It is essentially a kitted out variant of the Volkswagen Passat Elegance, and is attractively priced at RM203,411.18 (without sales tax). This price is possible because the sportier looking Passat is also locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, Pahang. It does go to show that the way forward to ensure attractive pricing is to locally assemble any car.

This is our review of the the 2020 Passat Elegance 2.0TSI. The video is the main review and this article fleshes out a little bit more....So do watch it folks! 

This facelifted model actually takes over both the 1.8liter and 2.0liter TSI variants here and is actually even cheaper than the sole 2.0liter variant sold here previously. The 1.8TSI started at RM159K for the base Trendline and RM179K for the Comfortline. So the single 2.0TSI seems to be good value and actually suits Malaysian car buying trends where the highest specification variant seems to be the one that sells the best in the long run. 

2020 Volkswagen Passat R-Line is Now Open For Bookings - Prices Estimated Between RM200K To RM210K

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is now accepting pre-bookings for the new Passat R-Line. The sportier big brother of the Passat Elegance, the new Passat R-Line is also locally assembled and is expected to be priced between RM200,000 to RM210,000. The annoucement and the preview of this new variant was made during the recent launch of the new Tiguan Allspace R-Line and Highlilne models as well as the new Arteon R-Line sports fastback recently.

Volkswagen Malaysia Announces Recall on 12,732 Vehicles For the DSG Transmission Hydraulic Pressure Accumulator

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced a voluntary recall on models produced between 2011 and 2015 to rectify the hydraulic pressure accumulator within the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox caused by a production issue. A total of 12,732 Volkswagen vehicles have been identified to undergo inspection under the recall. The affected models are Beetle, Cross Touran, Golf (Mk6 and Mk7), Jetta, Passat (B7), Passat CC, Polo (6R) and Scirocco.  This inspection and part change, if needed is free of charge to the owners.

2020 Volkswagen Passat Facelift Launched in Malaysia - Only 1 Variant Offered - Passat 2.0TSI Elegance

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have launched the facelifted Volkswagen Passat here in Malaysia. The Malaysian variant comes only four months after its German market launch and like the pre-facelift model, is locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang. Only 1 variant will be available for now - the 2020 Passat 2.0TSI Elegance which will come priced at RM187,990 on the road before any insurance.

This is the 2019 Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TSI Highline. This Passat B8, its model code name, was first launched over in Europe sometime in 2014 and it has been sold here in Malaysia since the end of 2016. The Volkswagen Fest 2017 is happening this weekend. I was there yesterday and here are some of the photos I took. It is on till tomorrow, the 13th of August 2017 and it is held on the grounds of the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam. It is something that would be a memorable experience if you like viewing old, classic Volkswagen cars like the Beetle, Kombi and even the Karmann Ghia. And then, there are the sales bargains too.
