Volvo Buses Launches the B11R Standard Bus Chassis with Euro 5 Emission for the Malaysian market


Volvo Buses Malaysia is doing its part in trying to make Malaysia better environmentally. The brand has officially launched of its new bus chassis, the B11R, which has been engineered to meet the Euro 5 emission standard, a globally recognised benchmark for cleaner emissions. Aside from the new engine ability to meet emission standards, this latest Volvo bus chassis is said to deliver outstanding performance in fuel efficiency, durability, and safety.

All-new fully-electric Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range Premium City Bus makes official debut in Malaysia - Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd and Volvo Buses signs MOU for a trial operation of the new electric city bus expected to start July this year

On 21st May 2024, Volvo Buses, part of the Volvo Group (“Volvo”) together with Gemilang International Ltd (“Gemilang”), one of Malaysia’s manufacturers of bodywork for buses and coaches, jointly launched the all-new, flagship Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range, offering Volvo’s first and locally-built electric low-floor, two-door, premium class, city bus in Malaysia.  A signing ceremony with Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (“Rapid Bus”) was held to confirm the Implementation of a trial operation involving the Volvo BZL-GML Eco Range for Rapid KL bus service.

Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad adds 20 units of the Longest Ever in Malaysia Scania K410EB6X2 Double Deck Coach in Malaysia - Transport Minister also announces Extra 200 PSV Bus Licenses for East Coast Folk to Apply

Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad (E-Mutiara) earlier today added to its fleet of express busses 20 units of the longest ever Scania K410EB6X2 double-deck coach in Malaysia at 13.5 metre length - the first of such a length in the country. The launch ceremony was witnessed by Guests-of-Honour YB Tuan Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia (MOT) and Mr Robert Lejon, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of Sweden. Ms Heba Eltarifi, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia handed over the coaches to Che Ibrahim Che Ismail (Pak Nik), Executive Chairman of E-Mutiara. With this latest addition, E-Mutiara will launch their first luxurious express coaches in Malaysia and start another chapter in their long and successful sustainable partnership with Scania.

A Ride and Drive as well as a Handover Event with the first ever Volvo B11RLE low entry double deck coach in Malaysia

 

Volvo Buses showcased the first ever fully built Volvo B11RLE 6x2 double deck coach for the Malaysian market and had inviting customers to experience first-hand a Ride and Drive event earlier today. This comes after introducing the Volvo B11RLE 6x2 chassis here recently. YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Transport Minister of Malaysia, and His Excellency Dr. Joachim Bergstrom, Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia, graced the event held at the Volvo Group Malaysia Shah Alam office.

This event marked the first time a fully built Volvo B11R Low Entry 6x2 double deck coach is showcased and operated on road in the market since the chassis’ introduction in 2022. The event was jointly organized by Volvo Buses and its partner Truckquip Sdn. Bhd. (TQ), which is Volvo’s fully authorized chassis assembly factory in Malaysia. The buses were also officially handed over to the operators, Sani Express Sdn Bhd (Sani).

Volvo Buses Delivers 90 Units of the Volvo B8L Buses - The first ever Euro 6 Double Decker Buses in Malaysia


On the 6th of December 2021, Volvo Buses announced the successful delivery of 90 units of the first ever Euro 6 double decker type buses to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), and the momentous occasion was marked by an official vehicle handover ceremony. This is quite special as this event actually marked the first time Euro 6 specification buses are officially in use in Malaysia.

Hino Poncho Minibus Goes into New Trial Routes in Kuala Lumpur and in Penang

Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Hino) and Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) is continuing trials with the Hino Poncho compact bus. The routes for the new trial run are in more challenging routes in and around Kuala Lumpur and also in Penang. This comes after a successful initial 2 month trial run for routes aroud Petaling Jaya in 2019. The 7-meter low-floor Hino Poncho minibus is Hino's solution for transport accessibility in tight and narrow roads and this second trial in Kuala Lumpur, commencing from early October 2021 to the end of April 2022, will cater to route T180 – from Taman Dato’ Senu to Chow Kit, and route 302,which is from Titiwangsa to KLCC. As for Penang Island, the Poncho will cater to route 11 which is from Pengkalan Weld to Batu Lanchang, and route 201 which caters for Pengkalan Weld to Tingkat Paya, Terubong.

Yesterday, Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) officially launched its new 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) centre operated by Auto Skyline Sdn Bhd (Auto Skyline). This newly renovated sales and service centre would meet the needs of Hino customers in the Johor Bahru region and bring a more up to date customer experience for the brand. The new 3S centre which was renovated at a cost of RM120,000  aims to provide the best support solutions that optimally suit customer needs.

The Hino Poncho Gets Tested by Persons with Disability During itsTrial Run in Johor Bahru


On the 9th of July 2020, passengers from the Persatuan Sokongan Orang Kurang Upaya Johor Bahru tried out the Hino Poncho minibus and its Person with Disability (PWD) friendly features. The test run with the PWD was conducted during the Poncho's month long trial run in Johor Bahru in collaboration with Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, which operates route 10B which was chosen as the test route for the minibus.

Hino Has Delivered its 100,000th Hino Truck in Malaysia - Also Records 5,520 Units Sold in 2019 Making It The No. 1 Overall Truck and Bus Market Leader Here


Last Wednesday, the 5th of February 2020, Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM)  delivered the 100,000th unit HINO truck in Malaysia. It also has shared that the company had sold 5,520 units of trucks and buses making it the overall market leader in terms of truck and bus sales in total. The 100,000th Hino vehicle was handed over to its existing customer, Ikhasas Resources Sdn Bhd (Ikhasas Resources). The joyous occasion was marked by an official handover ceremony during the Hino Chinese New Year Open House held at HMSM Headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

Buses: Perdana Express Buys 31 New Scania K410 Buses & Enters into New Maintenance Contracts For Their Scania Buses


The folks who use Perdana Express buses will be riding in some brand new Scania express buses after this. Perdana Express has received 31 new Scania buses to bolster its services between the East Coast to the Central Region of Peninsular Malaysia. The bus company and Scania Malaysia held a handover ceremony as well as a service and maintenance agreement signing at the  Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, Bandar Tasik Selatan in Kuala Lumpur.

Volvo Buses host Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Conference together with Technology Depository Agency (TDA) and Prasarana / Some Thoughts After Listening to the Conference


Volvo Buses hosted the very first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Conference in Putrajaya, Malaysia on November 19 th 2019. The event was held together with the Technology Depository Agency (TDA) and Prasarana government agencies related to technology and public transport. It was also supported by the Malaysian Government, The Swedish Embassy and Business Sweden with the intention to  bring together key stakeholders from across Malaysia to build a shared vision that will make Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) work successfully in Malaysia.

Sani Express Sdn Bhd (Sani Express) took delivery of 23 new Scania K410EB6X2 buses at theTerminal Bersepadu Selatan (South Integrated Terminal) in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kuala Lumpur. This is part of the company's business practice of upgrading its express bus fleet to provide customers with comfortable, safe, and greener travel. It also shows a company willing to accept more progress and technology in their transport business.

Rapid Bus Trial Runs the HINO Poncho MiniBus - A Minibus in the Klang Valley, Brings Back Memories



Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, or more commonly known as the company that handles most of Malaysia's public bus services has started a trial run of the Hino Poncho minibus. Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Hino Malaysia) recently introduced this low-floor seven meter long minibus here as it sees the need for the re-intorduction of minibus based public bus and light rail services in the country. For a first step, Rapid Bus has decided to use the Poncho minibus on a trial run basis for three months.

Volvo Trucks VISTA Begins - The Largest Global Competition for Aftermarket Technical Staff Kicks Off


Volvo Trucks had recently started off the latest edition of its largest global competition for aftermarket technical service personnel. The competition, called VISTA, or the Volvo International Service Training Awards, is now open for Volvo Trucks / Bus technicians to register from the 30th of September 2019. This year, about 20,000 Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses technicians throughout planet Earth, including those from Malaysia and around the region are expected to participate in this global challenge.

Hino Showcases the Poncho Minibus at MCVE 2019 - Together the the Upcoming 700 Series Prime Mover with AMT Gearbox!


If you folks have been following Motoring-Malaysia's YouTube Channel, you'd already know that I had recently uploaded the preview of the Hino Poncho low-floor minibus at the Malaysian Commercial Vehicle Expo 2019 held over at MIECC in Kuala Lumpur recently. Hino's Malaysian subsidiary, Hino Motors Sales Malaysia had participated in the expo in a big way and displayed a few of their vehicles, namely the Hino Poncho minibus as well as a preview of the upcoming Hino 700 Series Prime Mover AMT.

MCVE 2019: Scania - Signing the first Asian Ecolution Agreement with Aone Logistics, the Scania Display area & Other Happenings


Many things happened with Scania at the recent Malaysian Commercial Vehicle Expo 2019 (MCVE 2019). The first thing was the entrance of the Scania truck driven by Scania Southeast Asia Managing Director, Marie Sjödin Enström Scania Malaysia into the lobby of the exhibition centre with Dato’ Kamarudin Jaffar, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Transport in the passenger seat as part of the opening launch gambit. Then, Aone Logistics Sdn Bhd  (above) signed the first Scania Ecolution truck agreement in Asia after the official launch of MCVE 2019.

Hino and Yamato Transport Launches Driver Aptitude Test & Road Safety Training at the Hino Total Support Customer Center, Sendayan


Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (HMSM), and Yamato Transport (M) Sdn. Bhd. (YTM), have joined forces and together, they have launched a new safe driving training program that leverages both companies’ safety-related experience and capabilities. The new driver's program is based on Yamato's driver aptitude test (DAT) which is currently being used in Japan but now it is being offered to Yamato's Malaysian drivers at Hino's training facility, Hino Total Support Customer Center (HTSCC) in Sendayan.
