The All-New Next-Gen Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel to have a Show-and-Tell in Kota Kinabalu on 21-23 July 2023

Important news for those of you who are in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah this weekend. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, will be bringing the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi Turbo Diesel Show-and-Tell event to Sabah from 21 to 23 July 2023. The three-day event is set to take place at the Likas Complex Area in Kota Kinabalu, from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. There, you can even test drive the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel across a specially designed off-road route.

This is a  video of the very very short test drive we had with the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0l Bi-Turbo pickup truck. Totally impromptu and unscripted. 

The launch event held at the Technology Park in Bukit Jalil continues throughout this weekend where interested parties can register and try out the Ranger Raptor. We managed a very, very short test drive of the Ranger Raptor 2.0L and we were quite impressed with its SUV or even car like refinement inside, even though we were doing a little bit of off-roading. Noise suppression was seriously good and it does feel more SUV rather than a pickup truck. The video is below:-

Earlier today I managed to spend some time at the launch event of the Next-Generation 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor. Organised by the good chaps at Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, the Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel allows us to have another engine selection for Raptor. The 2.0-litre diesel engine variant joins its 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol engine counterpart in the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor line-up allowing those who like the frugality of a diesel engine (like the previous generation and its cheaper road tax) with all the goodies of the latest one.

GOOD NEWS!   Due to a demand from Ford Raptor fans in Malaysia for a smaller engine capacity Raptor the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor in 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo Diesel engine for will be made available soon. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, announced earlier today that the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel will be available starting 8 June 2023. While the Next-Gen Raptor was launched in Malaysia recently, it only came with a larger 3.0liter petrol turbo powered engine. With Malaysia being a country where engine capacity is taxed on how large the size is, a 2.0liter variant was always demanded by most people.

This time, the Ford Ranger Raptor is petrol powered. Ford authorised distributors, Sime Darby Auto Connexion, has launched the next-generation 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor. This high performance variant of the ever popular Ranger pickup truck is now in its latest form and features a high-performance 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol engine that makes up to 397 PS and 583Nm torque, enabling the next-gen Ranger Raptor to have even more performance on and off-road.

Still familiar in its overall styling but improved all over according to the folks at Ford. I managed to attend the launch event even though I had quite a busy schedule. Maybe since it was Friday and most of my errands were done for the week (trying to get things back on track after all lockdowns over the past two years).

Today, the 12th of April 2021, I was invited to witness  the official launch of Sime Darby Motors' automotive facility, Sime Darby Motors City. While operating for quite a while already in the township of Ara Damansara in Petaling Jaya, it was only officially launched today due to the many pandemic lockdown issues the country is facing. So after an actual postponement of an earlier scheduled official opening, Sime Darby officially launched the automotive complex today. The complex houses six flagship centres featuring many brands represented by Sime Darby Motors in Malaysia, namely BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, MINI, Motorrad, Porsche and Volvo. New Ford Ranger Raptor X Special Edition Launched - A Special Red Coloured Edition for Malaysia

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, had on 3rd March 2021 revealed the New 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor X Special Edition, which is special to Malaysia and comes in True Red colour. This is also the first time that the colour Red will be offered on a Raptor for customers here. It will come with more equipment and additional safety features as standard, notably it has a in-built 360-degree camera, Dual Digital Video Recorder, and distinctive accessories comprising a bold Raptor X decal and Special Edition carpet mats. The new variant is priced at RM216,888 (on-the-road, without insurance) with a 5-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty or 160,000km, whichever comes first.

SDAC-Ford Launches New Five-Year and Extended Warranty Plans For All New Ford Ranger Sold in Malaysia

Good news! New Ford Ranger customers will be able enjoy more with the new 5-year manufacturer’s warranty (with the usual terms and conditions*). This is up from the previous 3-year warranty offered before this. But even existing Ford Ranger customers can opt into this new warranty by purchasing a two new Extended Warranty. Plans (with the usual terms and conditions also**) called PremiumCARE and PowertrainCARE.

Well, currently, this is the only car that Ford sells in large numbers in Malaysia with the occasional Ford Mustang or SUV thrown in to the picture once in a while (as these are fully imported stuff which comes in small batches). So the Ford Ranger, which is also a favourite of many pickup truck fans here, gets an extended warranty. This should make many people a little bit happier.

Ford Motor Company recently held their annual Chairman’s Award programme where the company awards their best distributors throughout the world. The award, launched regionally in 2016 saw its 2019 best distributors announced with these companies deemed at the top of their Customer Satisfaction game honoured. 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 Launched via Ford Malaysia's YouTube and Facebook Channels - Priced at RM126,888 OTR Without Insurance

Ford Motor Company together with Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, recently launched the New 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 in Malaysia via Facebook and YouTube Live through a product walkaround session. The launch, on the 3rd of June 2020 was like many others which happened during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period which was imposed due to Malaysian wanting to curb the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The new norm for the moment is social distancing and the New Ford Ranger FX4 is the first pickup truck in the country to be launched on two online platforms simultaneously.
