Fuel Pump Service Fix / Recall Campaign For Certain Toyota and Lexus Models (From 2013 to 2019) in Malaysia


UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia have announced Special Service Campaign (SSC) to replace the fuel pump on some Toyota and Lexus models that were sold by them in 2013 to 2019 (2014 Corolla Altis shown above). If you have one of the cars mentioned herein which were officially sold by UMWT do give them a visit to get it fixed at no charge whatsoever. Only your time is needed to get it done folks!

Special Service Campaign - UMW Toyota Needs You To Send In Certain Toyota Models For Another Airbag Inflator Fix - Better Get It Done Folks!


The official arm of Toyota here in Malaysia has issue a Special Service Campaign (SSC), or service recall, for certain  Toyota models which were previously affected by the previous free airbag inflator service fixes. This is because some of the replacement airbag inflator are still faulty. This Takata airbag debacle is still ongoing. I have to say that Takata has made life difficult for everyone in recent times. Anyway, the affected models are about 41,000 Toyota Vios, Corolla Altis, Camry made between 2001 to 2013.

Toyota Yaris Previewed and Other Toyota Activities at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 - Ongoing till 14th April 2019


UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), which represents Toyota here in Malaysia is one of the exhibitors at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019. The Toyota booth, which is located in Hall A, is currently displaying six of its current and upcoming models as well as having some cars which can be test driven at the autoshow. One of the display models is the much awaited all-new Toyota Yaris which will be launched sometime soon. This year's Malaysia Autoshow is on from 11 to 14 April, 2019, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Serdang, Selangor.

8th Generation All-New Toyota Camry Gets a 5 Star ASEAN NCAP Crash Test Rating


The official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia, UMW Toyota Motor SdnBhd (UMWT), recently announced that the All New Toyota Camry was awarded the 5-star ratings at the recent New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) crash test results. The impressive 5 star ASEAN NCAP rating is due to the large D Segment sedan fitted with a lot of Active Safety Equipment. Active safety features an important segment in determining a car's safety rating in the Assessment Program.

UMW Toyota Issues a Special Service Campaign to Fix Issues on Certain Toyota Models - Toyota 86, Vios, Camry, Corolla Altis from various years affected

The Malaysian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia, UMW Toyota Motor recently announced what they call a Special Service Campaign (SSC)  for two issues. The first is the, wait for it, RE-Replacement of the airbag inflator for certain Toyota models and secondly, an engine valve spring replacement for the Toyota 86 sold officially by them.

UMW Toyota Motor Announces That the Order Books for the Upcoming All New Toyota Camry is Now Open


Good News! The All-New Toyota Camry will be brought into Malaysia soon! UMW Toyota Motor have announced that all authorised dealerships in Malaysia will be taking bookings of the All New Toyota Camry starting from 1st November 2018 onward. This is good news for those interested in acquiring the newest edition of the full sized Toyota here.

Toyota's March 2018 Offers, Roadshows & Promos - And The Malaysian Spec Toyota C-HR Spotted Undergoing Assessment With ASEAN NCAP


Toyota have more offers this month. More rebates where you can save some money if you want to buy a Toyota that is. I suppose this is because they haven't actually launched anything really new recently and everyone of us is actually waiting for the upcoming Toyota C-HR launch. Here is the crossover SUV making its rounds at the recent ASEAN NCAP Blind Spot Sensor Systems Assessment over in Putrajaya yesterday. This seems to be the model which we will be getting.

UMW Toyota Motor Donates A Toyota Camry Hybrid to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)

Recently UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. (UMWT), the distributors of Toyota here, made a donation of a Toyota Camry Hybrid to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The vehicle will be used for technical research and development study by the researchers and students who are studying under the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

TOYOTA is the Main Vehicle Sponsor for this year's Jelajah Malaysia Cycling Competition - Event Flags Off from UMW Toyota Motor HQ in Shah Alam

The 53rd edition of the Jelajah Malaysia cycling tournament started earlier today. This historical 5-day cycling event which will see riders from all over the world compete over five states through three states in Peninsular Malaysia - Selangor, Perak and Kedah. This time around, UMW Toyota Motor are the main vehicle sponsors, where 30 or so units of various Toyota and Lexus models are to be used to ferry competitors, personnel and their equipment around.

FYI, The Daihatsu Altis is not based on the Toyota Altis but the Toyota Camry. How confusing for people over here.

Now this is awkward. Daihatsu has launched the new Daihatsu Altis. And as it has always been since circa 2000, it is based on the Toyota Camry. Not the Toyota Corolla Altis that we know in these parts of the world.
