BMW Malaysia Implements Augmented Reality (AR) Experience For Smart Devices Where You Can Experience the All-New BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport There

BMW Malaysia has introduced a web-based AR experience for its recently unveiled All-New BMW X5 xDrive45e M SportSUV. This is where you can virtually view the new X5 from the comfort of your smart device. This is a first for the BMW portfolio in Malaysia and could be the future on how you shop for a new BMW, this virtual car walk around is the first step in the process. You can pinch and zoom and turn the virtual X5 round and round via this webpage.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced a voluntary recall on models produced between 2011 and 2015 to rectify the hydraulic pressure accumulator within the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox caused by a production issue. A total of 12,732 Volkswagen vehicles have been identified to undergo inspection under the recall. The affected models are Beetle, Cross Touran, Golf (Mk6 and Mk7), Jetta, Passat (B7), Passat CC, Polo (6R) and Scirocco. This inspection and part change, if needed is free of charge to the owners.

Sime Darby Auto Performance Previews the New 2020 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the authorised distributor for Porsche cars here in Malaysia have introduced the new range-topping performance models in the 718 family – the new 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder. These are technically the start in someone's Porsche journey before they move up to a 911 or the jump from other German performance cars. The price of the new 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder starts from RM 999,000.00 and RM 970,000.00 respectively.

MINI Malaysia Launches the New 2020 MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition - Limited to 20 Units Only and Prices at RM285K+ With SST Exemption

MINI Malaysia has launched the New 2020 MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition. This is limited to 20 units only for the Malaysian market and takes after the original 2007 first generation MINI Sidewalk Generation. It is priced to go at RM285,899.47 after taking into account the SST Exemption which is in force until 31st December 2020.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the new C 200 AMG Line and compared to the current C 200 Avantgarde which was essentially the entry level C-Class here, this is what most of us would want. And it is priced slightly cheaper too - RM251,587.39 over RM259,000 when the C 200 AV was launched in February of 2019. Most likely due to the lack of sales tax due to the tax holiday but I'll take it as a drop nonetheless.

Perodua has added a new body colour for the ever popular Perodua Myvi. All variants have Electric Blue as a colour option to choose from. Aside from that, Perodua has introduced version 2.0 of the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) to the Myvi. Variants with the upgraded ASA 2.0 are now the Myvi 1.3 X AT (as an option), 1.5 H AT and the range topping 1.5 AV AT variants. Prior to this, only the AV had the ASA system offered. These are now available for booking at all Perodua showrooms nationwide.

Volvo Trucks Malaysia Delivers 5 New FM370 4X2 and FM440 6X2 Trucks to Chemtrax Sdn Bhd

Johor-based transportation company Chemtrax Sdn Bhd (Chemtrax), has taken delivery of five units of Volvo trucks from Volvo Trucks Malaysia. These are four units of the Volvo FM370 4x2 model and one unit of the Volvo FM440 6x2 model prime mover trucks. The purpose of Chemtrax's acquisition is for the company’s expansion and also for replacing several old trucks in its fleet. The new trucks will be utilised for transporting caustic soda chemical compounds and also butadiene gas.

Corporate Social Responsibilty initiatives conducted by the folks at Perodua are still going strong. This time, the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital recently received a portable flexible videoscope set, while 250 underprivileged paediatric patients received contributions ranging from school supplies to prescription glasses from the Malaysian compact car manufacturer.

Progress never stops in terms of engine oil technology when it comes to Shell. So this time around, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd has introduced two new Shell Helix engine oils that puts an emphasis on the benefits to users and less on technical specifications - the Shell Helix Protect and Helix Power.This makes it easier to choose the right engine oil based on one’s driving style and needs. Of course, it is more on the packaging to show some straight-forward literature rather than explaining formulation, engine oil grades and how incredibly fantastic the oil is in as many technological jargon until it sounds impressive. It is impressive, but less is more in this case.

Proton Launches the Saga Anniversary Edition - Celebrating 35 Years of Malaysia's First National Car

The Proton Saga now celebrates 35 years of existence with the launch of a special model featuring a unique colour scheme, extra accessories and is limited to 1,100 units. The special edition Anniversary Edition Saga was launched in PROTON's first ever virtual launch over social media with the Saga Anniversary Edition marking the 4,150,035th car to roll off the line. Nice trivia figures here too. The limited run of only 1,100 unit Proton Saga Anniversary Edition is priced at RM39,300 (after zero sales tax until the end of 2020), the same as the current Saga with extras.

The Toyota Corolla Cross has been unveiled via Toyota Thailand's website. The New Compact Toyota SUV is now officially on sale in Thailand and will be launched in a number of markets, including Malaysia from the looks of it as we actually received the word of the launch from UMW Toyota Motor, the Malaysian distributor of all things Toyota. No idea as to when it will officially be launched here but do expect Thailand imported vehicles to be sold here when that happens (much like the Corolla Altis 1.8G we currently have here.

Most of us who were born in the 1980s onwards or earlier would have fond memories of a family elder driving around in one of these. As online shopping has been growing like crazy these days especially with the COVID-19 pandemic where most of us have had to work or do everything from home. Sime Darby's retail and distribution arm, especially its automotive division Sime Darby Motors, has reported that the Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi (PENJANA) economic stimulus package aimed at propelling Malaysia’s economic recovery post COVID-19 lockdown, Sime Darby Motors, is helping things out for them. According to their latest news release, they are experiencing an increase in demand for its vehicles and is appreciative to the Malaysian government on this initiative. Indeed, the Total Industry Volume (TIV) sales of the automotive industry has seen its May 2020 sales numbers rise to 22,000 units registered froma measly 150 over units registered in the month of April 2020. The relax in the Movement Control Order (MCO) regulations has allowed businesses to recover, albeit to about 65% of its pre-MCO days.

Peugeot in Malaysia Now Has an E-Showroom for Better Customer Interaction - Plus Offers and Other Promos

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, recently announced the launch of an e-showroom. The 5th Generation Toyota RAV4 Has Been Launched with Prices Starting at RM196K Onwards

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia has officially launched the fifth generation Toyota RAV4 SUV. The company welcomes the tax incentives that was recently offered by the Prime Minister which will see sales tax for CBU vehicles reduced by 50% as part of the short-term economic recovery plan that will be available from 15 June 2020 until 31 December 2020. And in order to make things even sweeter, customers can opt for a financing programme with the new Porsche 360 Financing+, with an even shorter loan tenure from 12 – 60 months and flexibility on ownership, specially available for the Macan only.

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 Now Open For Pre-Launch Booking

UMW Toyota Motor recently announced the order taking for the much awaited 2019 Japan Car of the Year, the All-New Toyota RAV4 from 10 June 2020 onwards. The sporty looking SUV is scheduled to be launched here in Malaysia within a day to two from the date of this article. UMW Toyota have already announced the price for this SUV and being fully imported, it will be priced from RM223,880 onwards.

The Malaysia Autoshow 2020, which was scheduled to occur in July 2020 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) will now been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the measures that were implemented to contain it. The annual autoshow is organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), and it will skip a whole year and only be scheduled for April 2021 but with the proviso that it is subject to the developments of the COVID-19 throughout this year and even 2021 from what we hear.

Isuzu Malaysia have announced that potential Isuzu D-Max customers will by offering a moratorium or deferment of sorts for financing payments on new Isuzu vehicles purchased from 1 June 2020 till 31 August 2020. Called the Isuzu Deferred Installment Campaign, this can be said to be the first programme of its kind in the pick-up segment where customers can defer their loan payments for up to half a year.

Naza Automotive Group, the automotive division of Naza Group, have announced the latest prices for vehicles under its automotive brands. This was made in line with the MalaysianGovernment’s announcement of sales tax exemption for locally-assembled vehicles and tax reduction for imported cars until 31 December 2020 as part of the national economic stimulus plan that it had implement coming out of the COVID-19 induced lockdown. The revised pricelist which is posted below, effective from 15 th June 2020 until 31 st December 2020, covers models offered by Kia, Peugeot, Citroën, and DS brands. Here is Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's update on passenger car prices following the announcement of the Malaysian government's new economic stimulus plan to stimulate the economy amidst the COVID-19 crisis. The initiative to assist the automotive industry includes 100% sales tax exemption for locally-assembled vehicles and a 50% reduction for fully-imported models from 15 th June 2020 until the end of the tax free incentive period. PROTON Announces Price Reduction of 1.2% to 5.7% for Their Vehicle Models - UPDATED With Price List

In line with the Malaysian government’s recent announcement of zero sales tax (0%SST) for cars sold in Malaysia for a six month period beginning 15 June 2020 to 31 December 2020, PROTON will reduce its car prices by 1.2% - 5.7%. The new reduction in prices reflect the zero SST incentive which is a measure implemented by the Malaysian government to try boost the economy as the country emerges from its COVID-19 induced lockdown.

Due to the recent move by the Malaysia government to try bolster the automotive industry and spur local consumption due to the recent slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, have announced their new pricelist for the Mitsubishi ASX Compact SUV and Outlander SUV in Malaysia. The new prices are effective immediately until 31 December 2020.

Goodyear Malaysia recently announced its Zero Contact Initiative (Zero Contact), whereby customers can get new tyres fitted at any participating Goodyear Autocare centre without any direct person-to-person contact throughout the entire process. As per the usual norm these days, this is to ensure a safe environment for its consumers and staff as businesses resume amidst the COVID-19 pandemic affecting us all. The practice follows procedures successfully implemented in the United States of America, Australia and other ASEAN countries which Goodyear are conducting their businesses at.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced a reduction on the prices of its models of up to RM9,484, following the announcement on the sales tax exemption. This adjustment will take effect from today, the 15th of June 2020 and will continue to take effect till the 31st of December 2020.

Due to the higher demand due to the recent shutdown of its operations due to the Movement Control Order placed in Malaysia (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Perodua is embarking upon a pilot project to extend the operation hours of selected service centres and Body & Paint (B&P) hubs to cater for the needs of its valued customers.

The HINO Poncho 7 meter minibus is starting a trial run within Johor Bahru. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been recently entered into between Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Hino Malaysia) and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (Handal Indah) to start a trial run of a low-floor mini bus in Johor Bahru. The Poncho, is a cute looking, low floor minibus that will be plying Route 10B, which is the route that travels along Johor Bahru City, Pelangi, Sentosa, Pandan, Taman Daya and Taman Setia Indah. It will be almost a one month trial which begins today, the 15th of June to the 12th of July 2020.

Volvo Car Malaysia Announces Latest Prices for Their Vehicles - From 15 June to 31 December 2020

Following the Malaysian government's announcement with regard to the Short-Term Economic Recovery plan post Movement Control Order, Volvo Car Malaysia has released its new price list for all Volvo CKD (Completely Knocked Down) models to exclude sales tax, effective 15 June to 31 December 2020. So if you have been looking for a Volvo car now could be the time. The last time this tax rebate was given was when the change of government happened back in 2018. Now you have another chance.

Hyundai fans prepare to be wowed this weekend, as Sime Darby Motors City, Ara Damansara and all other Sime Darby Auto Hyundai (SDAH) outlets nationwide are offering irresistible deals for all new and pre-owned models from the 12 to 14 June 2020. UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), the official distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia have announced new prices for its vehicles beginning 15 June 2020 and should be valid till 31 December 2020, following the incentives provided to the Malaysian automotive industry announced by the Prime Minister. Hello folks! Been a tad bit busy now that the Movement Control Order has entered another more relaxed phase. We can all go about and do nearly whatever we want with the exception of hairdressers and masseurs. The government of Malaysia has also stated that many of the locally assembled and imported cars have lower SST (sales, service tax) from 100% to 50% less and cars are now slightly more affordable. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has announced a new promo for their Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. The Tiguan can be had with Six months free installment for all units registered by 30th June 2020. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) had announced on the 1st of June 2020 a new sales initiative which offers Volkswagen owners the option to have their new cars delivered to their homes, or offices, or even factories. The service is available nationwide at all authorized Volkswagen dealerships. Delivery is free for owners located within a 20-kilometre radius from their selected dealership. So if you live a bit further than that, charges may apply. Anyway, more value added services from VPCM to their customers.

Ford Motor Company together with Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, recently launched the New 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 in Malaysia via Facebook and YouTube Live through a product walkaround session. The launch, on the 3rd of June 2020 was like many others which happened during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period which was imposed due to Malaysian wanting to curb the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The new norm for the moment is social distancing and the New Ford Ranger FX4 is the first pickup truck in the country to be launched on two online platforms simultaneously.
