UMW Toyota Motor recently announced the order taking for the much awaited 2019 Japan Car of the Year, the All-New Toyota RAV4 from 10 June 2020 onwards. The sporty looking SUV is scheduled to be launched here in Malaysia within a day to two from the date of this article. UMW Toyota have already announced the price for this SUV and being fully imported, it will be priced from RM223,880 onwards.
Completely redesigned, it actually looks so much better than the outgoing model it replaced (which we didn't get officially). The All-New Toyota RAV4 offers a safe, secure, comfortable, and convenient drive experience with the power and sophistication of a Premium Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). I saw a few private imports of the previous generation here as well as while holidaying in Australia and that model didn't tickle my fancy whatsoever. This one looks so much better and actually has much of that edgy, sharp styling of the smaller C-HR crossover that I think is very current.
The All-New Toyota RAV4 is a fifth generation RAV4 and is developed with Toyota's current range of engines which they call Dynamic Force Engine and on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. The powertrain, drivetrain and chassis is said to offer a new level of powerful performance and better driving experience to meet today’s customers’ expectations. Of course, this is courtesy of a new, more progressive Toyota that has decided to stop being ultra conservative like before. It seems that the other Japanese car company, the one that starts with an 'H' is now taking over as the 'Uncle'mobile for me.
The 2020 RAV4 for Malaysia comes with Toyota Safety Sense features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) for All Speed as well as Automatic High Beam (AHB).
The new RAV4 also comes with Kick Sensor Power Back Door and other advanced and versatility features that makes it the best-in-class passenger-friendly SUV.
The All-New Toyota RAV4 is covered with full 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage. There will be two variants offered here which are the 2.5L and 2.0L. The on-the-road (OTR) price without insurance is at RM223,880 and RM203,880 respectively (before the price revision on the Sales Tax exemption).
The revised price list will be announced shortly (upon its launch) to reflect the Sales Tax exemption and is estimated to be at RM215,700 and RM196,500, respectively".
