Last 2nd June 2020, BMW Group Malaysia announced a new Plug-in Hybrid vehicle (PHEV) Battery Warranty Programme for BMW and MINI PHEV cars in Malaysia. The premium brand company has enhanced its current PHEV battery warranty programme for its new BMW and MINI vehicles by an additional 2 Years and 60,000KM. What this does is essentially allow owners of the cars to have an 8 Year/ 160,000KM (whichever comes first).
The New Battery Warranty Programme is also available as an extension via the BMW and MINI Aftersales Upgrade Programmes for the BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive 40e, BMW 530e and MINI Countryman PHEV at RM 2,200 as well as the BMW 740Le at RM 7,600. We would suggest that current owners of the cars mentioned fork up the extra amount stated if they intend to use their PHEV cars for at least an eight year period. This is so much value added to your ownership experience as for the extra warranty, you may get to save tens of thousands of Ringgit.

According to Hoelzl, these campaigns were created to keep the customer spirit strong during these challenging times with a positive outlook to the times to come after COVID-19.
But do note that this is a limited offer period. The PHEV Battery Warranty Programme is available from now until 31 st December 2020. So it is not a permanent offer but that being said, the next round of warranty programme offer could be better, the same or even worse that what is offered now. But personally, as stated above, if you are running your BMW or MINI PHEV for a period longer than five years, this would be good to have.
