Perodua Donates to the Sabah Women and Children's Hospital - Videoscope Donated As Well As School Supplies and Prescription Glasses to 250 Child Patients

Corporate Social Responsibilty initiatives conducted by the folks at Perodua are still  going strong. This time, the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital recently received a portable flexible videoscope set, while 250 underprivileged paediatric patients received contributions ranging from school supplies to prescription glasses from the Malaysian compact car manufacturer.

The videoscope is basically an advanced borescope that houses a tiny camera on the tip of the scope. It allows video images to be relayed to a screen or eyepiece and you can use it for looking inside someone if it is the flexible kind. It depends on what type and how long it is and you can use it to check out someone's inner recesses like the colon or the stomach or even other area of the human anatomy. Quite a gift to a hospital actually.

Of the 250 child patients, 200 patients aged below 12 received stationery while the remaining 50 outpatient kids were given prescription glasses. Sometimes, the people who face hardship do not even have the resources to ensure that their children have the necessary education material or even the pleasure of wearing corrective glasses. So Perodua has ensured that some of them now have that gift of better sight.

“While Malaysia is showing positive signs in the fight against COVID-19, we now include other priorities to ensure the quality of life improves in this country,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad explaining the decision made by the company to assist in other ways.

“In addition to that, our contributions here are our way of thanking the good staff of Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital for tirelessly and selflessly caring for the patients,” added Dato' Zainal.

This isn't the first time that Perodua had assisted the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital . In 2018, Perodua had contributed two laryngoscope blade sets and 40 bed pillows, and toys for some 250 child patients.

“Based on feedback from the hospital, we have decided to further assist this health institution to further increase its capabilities as well as contribute directly to the community. It is important that Perodua continues its role as a responsible and caring
organisation towards the Malaysian community who has strongly supported us over the years,” said Dato’ Zainal.

Bravo Perodua!
