Naza Automotive Group, the automotive division of Naza Group, have announced the latest prices for vehicles under its automotive brands. This was made in line with the MalaysianGovernment’s announcement of sales tax exemption for locally-assembled vehicles and tax reduction for imported cars until 31 December 2020 as part of the national economic stimulus plan that it had implement coming out of the COVID-19 induced lockdown. The revised pricelist which is posted below, effective from 15 th June 2020 until 31 st December 2020, covers models offered by Kia, Peugeot, Citroën, and DS brands. Dato’ Nik Hamdam Nik Hassan, Group Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings said, “The Government’s move to spur the automotive market through a sales tax exemption is a welcomed and timely initiative. The savings for Kia models range from 2.42% for the Kia Grand Carnival to about 6.70% for the Kia Optima. Of course, the more expensive the model, the larger the SST savings will be regardless of whether it is locally assembled or imported. It usually is the case when the initial asking price is either small like say a Picanto at RM44K or a Stinger at RM383K.
The savings for Peugeot models are quite similar and they seem to sit in the 3.5% region or between RM5K to 7K and is quite similar with the Citroen and DS brands.
In general, like the other brands, there are savings to be made and even though it could be a tumultuous time to go out and purchase something large, this could be the time if you are already looking to replace your car as there are other offers and promotions which are being offered by these brands themselves. Couple these added offers and you may have more savings that what you see here.
