Perodua Introduces New Electric Blue Colour for All Variants of the Myvi as Well as the Upgraded Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 for X AT, H AT & AV AT Variants

Perodua has added a new body colour for the ever popular Perodua Myvi. All variants have Electric Blue as a colour option to choose from. Aside from that, Perodua has introduced version 2.0 of the Advanced Safety Assist  (ASA) to the Myvi. Variants with the upgraded ASA 2.0 are now the Myvi 1.3 X AT (as an option), 1.5 H AT and the range topping 1.5 AV AT variants. Prior to this, only the AV had the ASA system offered. These are now available for booking at all Perodua showrooms nationwide.

In terms of the ASA system, the range-topping 1.5 AV was previously the only variant with the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA*) suite of driver assistance safety systems. Now, the more advanced version, ASA 2.0, which is like the one fitted to the Aruz SUV, is standard on variants 1.5 AV and 1.5 H, and is also optional on the 1.3 X.

So for 2020, the Myvi gets a new colour as well as better active safety equipment for certain variants. This means that Perodua is now offering a their customers an even safer Myvi for more of their customers at a very affordable price. Even with ASA 2.0 fitted in the X and H variants, the price still hasn't climbed from what I see.

In terms of the new colour, aside from the Electric Blue body colour available for all variants, the current range of colours include Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Lava Red and Granite Grey (now available on all variants except 1.3 G).

“With the inclusion of ASA 2.0, the Perodua Myvi takes advanced safety to a whole new level at this price point, and it’s now more widely available within the line-up,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

“The latest Myvi carries on the Perodua tradition of bringing advanced safety technology to the people by making it affordable and accessible to all,” added Dato' Zainal.

Now describing more of the ASA, it first debuted on the third-generation Perodua Myvi in 2017 making the Myvi the cheapest car with some sort of active safety systems to be sold in Malaysia. ASA comprises of Pre-Collision Warning (up to 30 km/h), Pre-Collision Braking (up to 30 km/h), Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control, all of which work together to mitigate collisions.

ASA 2.0 first appeared on the Perodua Aruz SUV in 2019, adding Pedestrian Detection (up to 50 km/h) tothe suite and upping the operational speeds of Pre-Collision Warning and Pre-Collision
Braking to 100 km/h and 80 km/h respectively.

ASA 2.0 then found its way to the 2019 Axia and 2020 Bezza before arriving now at the
Myvi, which continues to be offered with a five-year/150,000 km warranty (whichever comes
first).  I also think that this newer variant is a little more sensitive in terms of its capabilities and is a very good upgrade to the 2020 Myvi. More value for the customer actually.
