The Malaysian distributors of Vespa, Naza Premira Sdn Bhd, has launched the 2018 Vespa GTS Super 300. The new 2018 Vespa GTS Super takes the iconic design of an Italian scooter and infuses it with a little more performance than the usual 150cc grunt. This time, with its 300cc Quasar engine, it could be Vespa’s most dynamic scooter as you get that Vespa looks but with a sportier tune to it. Many could be surprised that this scooter may be able to outgun some 250cc sports bikers at the traffic lights.
The 2018 Vespa GTS Super 300 is powered by a liquid-cooled, single cylinder 300cc Quasar engine. It makes 21.2 HP at 7,750 rpm and maximum torque of 22 Nm at 5,000 rpm. You get so much better power to weight ratio with this model, but Vespa still gives you a lot of safety too as the GTS Super 300 comes standard with Antilock Braking System (ABS) on both its front and rear wheels for optimal wheel control in all conditions.
It also has Anti Slip Regulation (ASR) feature which enhances vehicle control and help the rider handle any unwarranted situation by offering a little more control when coupled with the GTS Super's larger brake discs and calipers (up front).
It still is a classic Vespa with all the traditional styling but with modern equipment and electronics underneath as you can see from the ABS and ASR systems. It also has a new lighting system with LED technology in its front lights. It is integrated into the turn indicator to give the scooter's front shield a cleaner look to it.
This larger capacity variant gets equipment such as the electric remote operating system on its saddle, bike finder feature, LCD dashboard screen and a USB port which enables easy charging of smartphones and other electronic devices. The GTS Super 300 also comes with a standard anti-theft immobiliser which locks the engine unit control functionality upon the removal of the ignition key.
The new Vespa GTS Super 300 is priced at RM25,000 (without insurance, road tax and registration fees) and is available in four colours; Monte Bianco (White), Verde Speranza (Green), Grigio Titianio (Black) and Giallo Gelosia (Yellow).
