Upcoming Event - The MAI Auto Festival 2018 from March 30 to April 1, 2018, at SMK Hutan Horizontal, Bagan Datuk, Perak.

The Malaysian Automotive Industry (MAI) will be organizing the MAI Auto Festival 2018!. This Auto Festival will take place from March 30 to April 1, 2018, at SMK Hutan Horizontal, Bagan Datuk, Perak. This is quite a unique event because it is actually held far from any large cities in Peninsular Malaysia! It is at least an hour or so from Ipoh, the capital of the state of Perak and will actually showcase 61 automotive companies that do business here in Malaysia.

Of course, this unique event is actually being held in the parliamentary constituency of the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. We suppose that this is part of his efforts to bring more to the state of Perak (more specifically his constituency of course - it looks like it's that time where members of parliament are promoting stuff in their areas). Anyway, the opening ceremony of the MAI Auto Festival will be officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister Malaysia himself, YAB. Dato 'Seri Diraja Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, at SMK Hutan Melintang, Bagan Datuk, Perak on March 31, 2018, Saturday.

Whatever the case is, the people in and around Bagan Datuk will actually get to experience a nearly large scale auto show. You must know that we here in the Klang Valley, Penang and even those in Johor would easily experience a lot of motoring events due to the larger numbers of enthusiasts concentrated in those areas. I would say, at least the folks there get something to talk about!

A total of 61 automotive companies are expected to participate at the MAI Auto Festival 2018. There will bevarious activities, such as exhibitions by various vehicle manufacturers, components & accessories suppliers, government agencies, local industry exhibitors and job or career exhibitors. The MAI Auto Festival is expeted to bring in 50,000 targeted visitors (mostly locals) who will be able to experience and observe some part of the the automotive industry.

12 car manufacturers such as Proton, Perodua, Kawasaki, Land Rover, Honda, Peugeot, Kia, Mazda, Haval, Toyota, Demak and Tan Chong Group will showcase the latest models for residents of Perak. They would be able to view the latest models, especially Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV). Again, this may be something new to the kampung-folk.

There will also be a host of other activities for visitors, such as multiple vehicle brand driving test, 4x4 Off Road Challenge, Rock Concerts by XPDC, Nik Putra, Yabang Khalifah, Laika (Akademi Fantasia) and
Eka (Akademi Fantasia), mobile community transformation center services, food trucks, exhibition & amp; sales of local industry results, automotive run and more.

The dangling carrot is that a lucky visitor will be driving home with a new Perodua Axia. This is the main prize for the lucky draw that will take place in conjunction with MAI Auto Festival 2018. The grand prize for this lucky draw is sponsored by the MAI themselves.

There will also be job opportunity exhibitions and job interviews will also be held throughout the 3 days from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm afternoon, offering various job opportunities in the automotive sector to graduates
university or SPM leavers.

Aside from the above, MAI will organise free vehicle checkups in order to promote the importance of vehicle inspection. There will be a Car Care Week program for Proton and Perodua branded vehicles. The car care guide will also be given to all visitors. In addition, attractive prizes await lucky visitors who make a car inspection at Care Care Week at MAI Auto Festival 2018.

MAI Auto Festival 2018 is a series of promotional tours to the organization of Malaysia Autoshow 2018 which will be held from 26-29 April 2018 at MAEPS, Serdang, Selangor.

The MAI Auto Festival 2018 is being made possible by the following sponsors -Perodua, the  Northern Corridor Implementation Authority(NCIA), Boon Siew, Rakan Malaysia Club, BHPetrol, Regional Part Center (REPAC), Department of Special Affairs (JASA) and Modenas.

So yes, you folks in and around Bagan Datuk now get a chance to see a motor show right at your doorsteps! Take note.
