Perodua Warns That There Are Con-men Masquerading as Perodua Sales & Pre-Owned Vehicle Advisors

It seems there was an arrest of a suspect in connection with a scam involving the sale of Perodua vehicles recently. As such, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd wishes to urge the public to be extra cautious when making vehicle purchase transactions. Perodua advises everyone interested in buying Perodua vehicles to not make payments to individual accounts but make payments to Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd or its authorised dealers as this is their standard business procedures.

What has come up is that recently, the police have arrested a man who posed as a Perodua sales representative. He was reported to be 'selling' Perodua vehicles on a popular online marketplace portal and this has caused the victims to lose a lot of their hard earned money.

According to Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Dr Zahari Husin., the conjob involved the sale of new Perodua vehicles and surprisingly, Perodua Pre-Owned Vehicles (POV). It has reached such a state that Perodua itself as well as the affected parties had lodged a police report on the matter.

Dato' Dr Zahari also stated that Perodua urges the public to be cautious in order to avoid becoming victims of such scams. He also advises the public to not make payments to individual accounts as the standard
operating procedure is to make payments to Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd or its authorised dealers. Another important statement made is that he also mentioned that all customers must insist on original receipts when making any payments for the vehicles.

As for certified used Perodua vehicles, Perodua has their official Pre-Owned Vehicle (POV) outlet located along Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur. Presently, this is the only genuine Perodua certified outlet with approved used Perodua cars for sale.

The Perodua POV officially opened for business in October 2017. It isn't even one year old! It offers affordable pre-loved Perodua vehicles up to seven years old that have been 165-point- checked and refurbished by Perodua themselves. The cars come with up to 18 months’ extended warranty for the
engine and transmission making them almost as good as owning a new Perodua.

So don't get conned folks. If you want to be a new car, go to the showroom, pay to the company account and not an individual person, get the receipt and don't always go for the cheapest advertisement. There usually is something wrong if things are offered too cheaply.
