This year, the super iconic Volkswagen Beetle celebrates its 80th anniversary. The authorised Volkswagen car distributors here, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia, will be celebrating the birth of the Beetle with a nationwide dealer celebration. where all of us are invited. Volkswagen Malaysia have announced that the 17th of March, Saturday 2018, all authorised dealerships will have lots of things going on from 11am till 5pm. This car has been around in one form or another since the 1930s!
There, you will have the opportunity to view and test drive the Beetle Sport 1.2TSI as well as participate in fun themed activities and refreshments for the whole family (if you want to do so). Those who take part in the test drive sessions will also stand a chance to win a lucky draw price of a LEGO Creator Expert Volkswagen Beetle at the dealership. Of course, one can also view the current range of Volkswagen cars on sale too.
The Malaysian specced Beetle Sport is powered by a 105PS, 170Nm 1.2l turbocharged TSI engine coupled to Volkswagen's 7-speed automatic transmission DSG powering the front wheels.
It is available in Bottle Green, Pure White, Tornado Red, Blue Silk, Dark Bronze and Habanero Orange. It comes with paddle shifters, cruise control, 2-zone Climatronic air-conditioning system, 6.5” Composition media with touch screen display with App-Connect, leather trim “Vienna” seats with front seat lumbar support, bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
The Volkswagen Beetle Sport is priced from RM147,888. All in all, the fully imported Beetle Sport packs a whole lot of kit for the price asked.
But there is also a rebate of RM5,000 for a Beetle, as well as cash rebates of up to RM15,000 on other Volkswagen models. Do note that Volkswagen models registered from the 1st of January 2018 also come with a 3-year (or 45,000km, whichever comes first) free maintenance package making the proposition of owning a Volkswagen quite an interesting proposition these days as everything is taken care of to a large extent.
