ISUZU HICOM MALAYSIA SDN BHD CELEBRATES TEN GLORIOUS YEARS

2007 was an important milestone for the Isuzu brand here in Malaysia. It was on that year that ISUZU HICOM Malaysia Sdn Bhd (IHM) was first established with the purpose of the Japanese brand having more control over the Malaysian market in lieu of increased market competition and to be quicker in responding to customers here.

Here in Malaysia Isuzu is no only synonymous with pick-up trucks or SUVs. They actually sell a lot more medium and light weight trucks here in Malaysia.  The company has actually achieved the No. 1 market share in the truck category for three consecutive years; attaining a dominant market share of 40%. The company is no slouch in the commercial vehicle sector.

Malaysia is an important country for ISUZU Motors Limited. Each year over 10,000 ISUZU vehicles are registered in Malaysia. IHM also celebrated its 100,000 unit completion in February this year, marking another milestone for the company in less than 10 years of its establishment.

This is a significant number of vehicles sold and proof that the setting up of IHM is relevant.  With such promising sales numbers especially in the central region of Peninsular Malaysia, IHM has responded to this growth with the opening of the newest flagship facility in Malaysia earlier this year in Shah Alam. The 3S centre also doubles up as a training ground for new mechanics to obtain the ISUZU i-Mec certification, which is an internal specification designed for mechanics handling ISUZU vehicles.
