MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW 2017 RECEIVED ALMOST 255,000 VISITORS, 2018 AUTOSHOW DATES ANNOUNCED

Two weeks have passed since the  Malaysia Autoshow 2017 ended. The motor show recorded over 255,000 visitors. Quite a respectable number.

This time, the Malaysia Autoshow 2017 chose six lucky visitors to compete in the final challenge where they are required to answer as many questions on Malaysia Autoshow 2017 correctly in the fastest time, within a one-minute timeframe. The grand prize that they were vying for is a Peugeot 208 PureTech. 

From the final challenge, Syed Ahmad Azroee bin Syed Abdullah was announced as the big winner and won the Peugeot 208 PureTech worth RM89,888.

The other five lucky visitors did not go home empty handed as the second winner, Cher Hang Boon won the Demak EX 90 motorcycle worth RM2,800 and four consolation winners won BHP fuel vouchers worth RM1,000 each. 

At the same event as well, Dato' Madani Sahari, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Automotive Insitute (MAI) announced that Malaysia Autoshow is slated to be held again next year in MAEPS, from 12 April to 15 April 2018 with many more exciting activities for visitors. 

Do note that next year's autoshow dates are earlier than before. This is so that car manufacturers have the time to display more concept cars here rather than having the Malaysia Autoshiw clash with other motor shows at the end of the year like the Japan motor show.

MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW 2017 WRAPS UP WITH ALMOST 255,000 VISITORS, 2018 AUTOSHOW DATES ANNOUNCED

Kuala Lumpur, 27 November 2017 Ð Two weeks after its conclusion, Malaysia Autoshow 2017 continued to bring huge smiles to the faces of lucky visitors.

Making it even more exciting this year, Malaysia Autoshow has chosen six lucky visitors to compete in the final challenge where they are required to answer as many questions on Malaysia Autoshow 2017 correctly in the fastest time, within a one-minute timeframe. The grand prize that they are vying for is a Peugeot 208 PureTech.

These visitors are Syed bin Ahmad, 30, Jason Tan, 47, Cher Hang Boon, 42, Mohd Helmi bin Bakar, 28, Muhammad Nur Aizat bin Abdul Samad, 29, and Mohd Al Khafiz Zainal, 36. They had bought tickets to view some 170 exhibiting brands at the four-day autoshow and participated in the Win-A-Car contest. Although only one will be driving home the RM89,888 car sponsored by Nasim Sdn Bhd and the second place winner taking home a Demak EX 90 motorcycle worth RM2,800, the other four will be each rewarded with RM1,000 worth of fuel vouchers from BHP for their effort.

The challenge also serves as the finale to the Malaysia Autoshow 2017 before the year draws to a close. The organiser, Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) had presented the Malaysia Autoshow at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS) which provided large indoor and outdoor sites for a wide range of automotive technology, products and services to be showcased, demonstrated and tested for the benefit of the almost 255,000 visitors.

As a result, Malaysia Autoshow 2017 witnessed the preview and launch of new models by a few car marques. Honda unveiled the fastest front-wheel drive production car in the world, the Civic Type R, Perodua gave a sneak peak of its All-New Myvi, Toyota launched the facelifted Harrier while KIA Stinger made its exclusive debut at this autoshow. Besides preview and launches, other car and bike brands such as BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Hyundai, Mazda, Proton, Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors, Subaru, Volvo, Renault, Boon Siew Honda and Yamaha also showcased their products with attractive promotions and discounts specially for the autoshow visitors. Visitors also had the golden opportunity to test drive the vehicles that caught their fancy around a-3 km route in MAEPS!

Many outdoor activities were held as the exhibitors demonstrated their products and technologies for visitors to experience in a different way. The activities included 4x4 Experience by the X-Men team that displayed their Jungle Expedition and Explorer Land Rover, as well as taxi-rides on a 100 metre off-road track, an exclusive test drive of the All-New CR-V equipped with Honda SENSING, and exciting 4x4 taxi-rides experience on obstacle course by Toyota. Visitors also had the opportunity of riding in high-end vehicles, Bentley Bentayga and a Ford Mustang for its Super Car Taxi Ride activity.

Another exciting highlight at Malaysia Autoshow 2017 was the first Karting Slalom in Malaysia which drew more than 600 registrations cross its three categories, which included one for children as young as eight years old. Fulfilling its objective of being a good platform for Malaysians especially children who are passionate about motorsport to try out their interest in a safe manner, the Karting Slalom saw Dani Arfan bin Hairul Anuar (9 years, 8 months old) being the youngest winner in the 8 -13 year old category.

Offering a platform for visitors to explore more on automotive industry, the Kuala Lumpur International Automotive Symposium (KLIAS 2017) also took place at the Malaysia Autoshow 2017 and saw numerous experts share automotive insights on the latest updates on the automotive industry.

"The success of the Malaysia Autoshow 2017 signifies the commitment of the industry and the participation of the people in the nation's automotive sector. Next year, we aim to create a more comprehensive showcase for a larger number visitors to the autoshow,Ò said Datuk Madani. 

"We also hope that the moving of Malaysia Autoshow dates from November to April will allow for a better autoshow experience, since it is scheduled in consideration of motor shows around the globe," he added
