PROTON took home the Silver Award in the Automotive Category at the Putra Brand Awards 2017, held yesterday at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This is the first win by PROTON since the Putra Brand Awards was first launched in 2010. Quite an achievement for the brand which seems to be only coming out of a tough streak recently.
The Putra Brand Awards is an award initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognise local and international brands that are near and dear to the hearts of Malaysians. The Putra Brand Awards measure brands by consumer preference and is endorsed by MATRADE. It is the only award chosen by the people. What this means in simpler English is that the winners of this award are voted by Malaysians themselves. So it would seem that Malaysians have warmed up to be brand again in many ways.
