The Specs For The Soon To Be Launched Range Rover Velar Has Been Announced By Land Rover Malaysia

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia have revealed the specifications, features and key equipment of the very, very soon to be launched Range Rover Velar. They are extremely thrilled to share more details of what could be Range Rover's most desirable new car in recent years. Bar the excitement it had managed to achieve with the very unique Range Rover Evoque that is. BUT, I like this more...a LOT more.

Anyway, according to Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia, the Malaysian specced Range Rover Velar will be specced with the Ingenium P250 engine. It will be coupled to a ZF eight- speed automatic transmission and it will have all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics. This would mean that the 2.0liter Ingenium engine would have the 254hp, 350Nm state of tune which would make it a satisfying drive in this slightly larger than an Evoque but smaller than a Range Rover Sport package. The Mid sized SUV will have drivers thrilled with the performance,  typical Range Rover promises of refinement and also its all-terrain capability of which a Range Rover is renowned for.

One of the important features that allow the Velar to excel in terms of performance and handling is the monocoque chassis. The Velar’s body is built with aluminium-intensive monocoque using Jaguar Land Rover’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture (also seen in the sister company Jaguar's F-Pace). Here, more than 81 per cent of the body-in- white is constructed from aluminium. An aluminium-intensive lightweight body, coupled with a double-wishbone front and Integral Link rear suspension (which is the required standard setup for high performance vehicle suspension) provides the recipe for agile handling, superior ride comfort and outstanding refinement. Aside from that, the inherent strength of aluminium will also allow the Velar to deliver exceptional levels of crash protection.

The Range Rover Velar is totally stunning even in photographs. It has that larger than life look to it and looks very much like the range topping Range Rover. Well, it has been awarded the 2018 World Car Design of the Year at the World Car Awards recently.

It is quite stately looking yet very modern. The LED headlights are sleek and super slim. No wide eyed look here but it works with the slanting front end and honeycomb grille. The door handles are super flush fitting and it a very nice tough to the exterior too. It seems that Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia have stated that there will be four stylish 21-inch rim designs to choose from making those who buy a Velar have more choice that ever.

The interior aside from being quite minimalist, elegant and a touch futuristic has a lot of good stuff inside it. The Touch Pro Duo system features two high-definition 10-inch touchscreens on the centre console. The Malaysian specced Velar is equipped with Head Up Display, Virtual Instrument TFT Display, Surround Camera, Navigation Pro System Powered Gesture Tailgate and Intelligent High Beam Assist to name a few.

The Velar will be equipped with six airbags, and a suite of technology advanced driver assistance systems including ABS, EBD, Traction Control, Stability Control, Park Sensors and Cruise Control Speed Limiter. We have been informed that there will be no Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection offered for the Velar in Malaysia though.

Complete details of the Range Rover Velar will be announced during the official launch in Malaysia which is actually just around the corner. Those interested can register at www.landrover.com.my/keep-me-informed
