The base specification Perodua Bezza 1.0 Standard G variant has now been replaced by the Perodua Bezza GXtra. The newly improved base model Bezza was launched at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 yesterday and will be offered at an introductory price of RM35,500 for the manual and RM37,500 for the automatic, on-the-road before insurance in Peninsular Malaysia.
You basically get more for the same amount of money as the previous entry level variant with the Bezza GXtra. New exterior trimming are the addition of side skirts and chromed outside door handles as well as a the Ocean Blue colour which was only previously available for the 1.3 Bezza variants.
The interior gets better trim and equipment. The dashboard and panel surrounding the audio system are now trimming finished in piano black. The air vent surrounds, steering wheel spokes and gear lever base are satin-finished, with chromed inside door handles rounding things off. The base car's audio system now comes with Bluetooth so that it is now possible to pair your phone with the audio system. I think this is the most important improvement as it allows hands-free calls even with the entry level Bezza. The rest are make-up to make the base Bezza betta. Couldn't resist the pun.
“The new Bezza GXtra represents Perodua’s enduring dedication to our customers as it was conceived based on their feedback. Being a People First company, Perodua is always listening to our customers’ needs and wants. We will never stop finding ways to improve our products and services so that we can serve our customers better,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer YBhg Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh.
The Bezza is the compact car manufacurer's first sedan as well as Malaysia’s most affordable Energy-Efficient Vehicle (EEV) rated sedan. Since it hit the market in mid-2016, nearly 100,000 units have been sold. The Bezza is popular with those starting out in life and according to Datuk Aminar, young Malaysian families appreciate its dependability, low running costs, ease to drive and its generous space. Somehow, one cannot argue with that fact.
Datuk Aminar added, “The Bezza GXtra represents the next step in the model’s lifespan. By providing a trim specification comparable to the 1.3 Premium X Bezza, we are offering more value for money within the Bezza range than ever before,”
As it is a base spec Bezza, it is still powered by a 1.0 litre 1KR-VE 3 cylinder engine with VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing – Intelligent) and it can be bought with either a five-speed manual and four-speed E-AT (electronically-controlled). Perodua claims that the new Bezza GXtra gets the same fuel consumption as the outgoing model at 22.8 km/l for the manual and 21.3 km/l for the automatic. Very fuel sipping in nature.
The Perodua Bezza GXtra is now open for booking.at all Perodua showrooms. For now, you can also head over to the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 at MAEPS Serdang to view this and other Perodua cars and there will be also another Perodua roadshow at all Perodua Showrooms on 5 and 6 May in conjunction with Customer Day.
The 2018 Perodua Bezza GXtra also comes with a five-year/150,000 km warranty for that added peace of mind..
