Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) have introduced the Mitsubishi Mobile Service Unit to serve Mitsubishi customers living in rural areas surrounding Kuching, Sarawak. This is part of their after sales expansion program where the mobile service unit will provide better convinience and assurance for their customers who live within a 150km radius from Kuching. This includes small towns such as Sematan, Lundu, Bau, Serian and Simunjan.
The specially set up vehicles will be operated by certified Mitsubishi authorized service dealers EON Auto Mart and Jimisar Autotrade in Kuching. The mobile unit, which is based on a Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck comes equipped with special Mitsubishi Multi Use Tester Diagnostic Scanner, hydraulic jack with stand, air compressor and tool sets. The unit will also carry spare parts such as oil filter and lubricants and its own generator for power supply.
According to Mr. Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia the Mitsubishi mobile service unit (which is based on a Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck) is capable of servicing up to 10 cars per day subject to location and distance between customers and will cover vehicle scheduled maintenance, inspection of vehicle wear and tear, and timing belt replacement.
“This is Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s first mobile service truck and customers shall see more of these mobile units in the near future as we are encouraging our authorized Mitsubishi dealers with fleet and rural customer base to embark on this effort to service our customers better,” said Mr. Shinnishi.
This is quite an interesting concept as this time, the customer does not need to drive to the authorised service center to service his car, but the servicing comes to him. It is good that Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia have come up with this mobile servicing concept especially for rural Sarawak. But we also hope that those in other rural areas within Sarawak and Sabah will get such mobile servicing units too.
Maybe it is in the pipeline and this is the first of many.
