The Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L Is A More Affordable Ranger Wildtrak Option - Now Available in Malaysia With Prices Starting From RM127,888 Onwards

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak now comes with the smaller 2.2liter engine! Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia, have launched the Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L in Malaysia. So basically those that oh, so badly want a Ranger Wildtrak but have always felt that running a large 3.2liter engine was hard for them to stomach can now go out and buy one today. It is priced from RM127,888 in Peninsular Malaysia and from RM133,888 for Sabah & Sarawak, before insurance.

The new Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L offers a lower entry point into having a fully kitted out Ford Ranger Wildtrak. Its lower entry point basically allows you all the features and equipment you see in the full fat Ranger Wildtrak 3.2 but as stated above, a smaller 2.2liter engine option. Less roadtax and more affordabililty.

The 2.2-litre Duratorq four-cylinder TDCi  turbo diesel engine makes 160PS at 3,000 rpm and has a peak torque of 385 Nm at 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. It is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission which drives all four wheels on demand with 2wd for normal daily use.

It basically features the same muscular styling of the Ranger Wildtrak. Apart from the smaller engine, the Wildtrak 2.2L also boasts equipment like the SYNC 3 connectivity with Apple Carplay and Android Auto and also the Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) system also provides precise steering at higher speeds while offering more control for low-speed manoeuvring as well as connecting to the active safety systems to provide lane keeping assist functions.

The Wildtrak 2.2L has class leading 800mm water-wading capability, 235mm ground clearance, an exceptional payload capacity and unbeatable towing ability of 3,500kg for added versatility. This are some of the reasons why the current Ford Ranger has been popular with a lot of Malaysians out there.

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L comes in three colours including Cool White, Pride Orange and Shadow Black. The new Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L also comes with an early bird offer of two years/40,000km (whichever comes first) free service and maintenance. The same offer is now also available for the Wildtrak 3.2L variant.

Aside from the above options and warranty package,  SDAC is also celebrating the launch of the Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L and SDAC’s 10-year anniversary. Those who place a booking or register for any Ford Ranger model from now to 30 June 2018 will stand to win a grand prize of one Ford Fiesta 1.5L Sport.
