PROTON's Facebook Poll To Name Their New SUV Receives Overwhelming Response

And meanwhile.... the Facebook poll launched by PROTON inviting the people to vote for the name of its upcoming and first SUV has attracted a heck of a lot of response for far. According to Proton, as at Wednesday 11th April 2018, more than 69,000 Facebook users had taken the poll while the accompanying video has been viewed over 165,000 times. More than a thousand people also shared the content on their own personal pages.

No, Proton did not use Cambridge Analytica to get that information. They can just get it from their own Facebook web stats of course. But what we can say is that the folks at PROTON were quite surprised at the amount of response within a short period (about nine or so days since the initial announcement).

This poll has some prizes being offered aside from the dream of being the person who gets to name a car. RM100,000 worth of gift vouchers will be shared among participants. Five winners will also be chosen based on the best reasons given for the name they have voted and their prize package will be a once in a lifetime experience consisting of exclusive VIP invites to the launch as well as the honour of being among the first people to test drive and experience the technology and advanced features of the new SUV at PROTON’s test track in Shah Alam.

Then there is also the option of proposing an alternative name for the SUV. Should the alternative name be picked, one lucky winner will be rewarded with a 4D/3N tour package to Hangzhou and Shanghai for two inclusive of a visit to the headquarters of Geely. PROTON have proposed some numerical like names - PX07 or something close to that sort. Do you prefer the new SUV to have a name instead? Go submit your entry and give your reasons. You could try naming it Proton Enterprise if you were a Star Trek fan.

You guys can still take part in the poll. The closing date for submission is 30th April 2018 at 11.59pm and all the winners will be announced closer to the launch date of the SUV.
