‘HAVAL Rocks The Town’ Tour Kicks Off At the AEON City Mall Last Weekend.

Last Sunday, the 29th of April, Go Auto Sales Sdn Bhd, the official distributors of HAVAL here in Malaysia officially launched the ‘HAVAL Rocks The Town’ Tour at the AEON Mall, Shah Alam. The event was held in conjunction with the Company’s ongoing REIMAGINE Campaign. The HAVAL Rocks The Town tour is a means for this somewhat new brand to bring forth more brand awareness to Malaysians. The campaign will see roadshows where the Haval H1 compact crossover and the larger H2 SUV travel on roadshows where there will be contest and prizes for those that visit the tour. 

SOCAR, The Car-Sharing Service Adds 50 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 To Service The Klang Valley

A fleet of 50 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 will be made available to the general public under SOCAR, the car-sharing service where people can use several types of cars via a smartphone application. These will be in use in and around the Klang Valley at the moment and is another form of ride-sharing. This time, you actually rent the whole car and drive it yourselves rather than the Grab, or Uber (now defunct in Malaysia) where you get someone and his car to drive you anywhere you want to go. 

Auto Commerz Launches First Service Centre in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur Making Them Have Full 3S Capabilities Now

      

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, together with their newest dealer partner, Auto Commerz Sdn Bhd, have opened the interim (short term) Mercedes-Benz Auto Commerz 2S Service Centre which is located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. This new service centre comes after the interim Mercedes-Benz Auto Commerz Autohaus which was launched in September 2017, allowing  Auto Commerz to finally deliver a total and personalised customer experience for Mercedes-Benz customers.

Opinion: Bogward Previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 - Thoughts on the Bogward BX5 & BX7 Models

Bogward, the recently resurfaced German brand has shown its face here in Malaysia at the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2018 where they previewed their BX5 and BX7 models. This the the second time the Bogward name has been used, the first, and original Bogward started producing cars under various nameplates like Goliath, Hansa Lloyd and also Bogward from the 1920s to about 1963 when the company was forced into liquidation. Their most famous model was the Bogward Isabella, which was produced in both sedan and coupe forms.

This is part of their after sales expansion program where the mobile service unit will provide better convinience and assurance for their customers who live within a 150km radius from Kuching. This includes small towns such as  Sematan, Lundu, Bau, Serian and Simunjan.

Perodua Bezza GXtra Launched at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 - New Improved 1.0liter Variant Replaces Previous Standard G Variant

The base specification Perodua Bezza 1.0 Standard G variant has now been replaced by the Perodua Bezza GXtra. The newly improved base model Bezza was launched at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 yesterday and will be offered at an introductory price of RM35,500 for the manual and RM37,500 for the automatic, on-the-road before insurance in Peninsular Malaysia.

The Peugeot 5008 SUV is all new and it has just been launched for the Malaysian market by Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Peugeot brand here. The All-New Peugeot 5008 SUV takes over from its 5008 MPV predecessor. It was first unveiled at the end of 2016 with European sales beginning in Spring of 2017. What was previously a 7 seater Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), it is now a large, uniquely styled C segment 7-seater SUV. Prices for this new SUV start at RM173,888 (before insurance) in Peninsular Malaysia. It will be sold in four colours Emerald Crystal, Amazonite Grey, Nera Black and Pearlescent White and it is currently on display in showrooms nationwide.

Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd has acquired Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Commercial Vehicles (MBM CV)

There seems to have been a big turn of events in the world of commercial vehicles. The Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Commercial Vehicles (MBM CV) business has been acquired by Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd. What this means is that everything that used to be handled by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, via MBM CV is now handled by Hap Seng Trucks Distribution. This includes handling the import of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles (trucks, etc), the local assembly, the wholesale distribution and aftersales service of Mercedes-Benz and FUSO commercial vehicles in Malaysia.

Mercedes-Benz Unveils The China Only A-Class L Sedan Variant - Let's Hope It Gets a Global Launch Soon!

Mercedes-Benz have revealed a production version of the A-Class Sedan on the eve of Beijing's Auto China 2018 motor show. The A-Class L Sedan variant is made in China for the China market. I hope this is only something temporary as there is talk that the sedan will be launched globally sometime at the end of this year as a 2019 model. But for now, China, being the largest automobile market in the world takes priority and gets something which is typically China market, a 'L' or long wheelbase version of the smallest sized car sold as a Mercedes-Benz.

Shell Malaysia Road Safety Movement or in the era of hashtags, the #ShellSelamatSampai (#SSS) is a Shell Malaysia CSR programme. The programme is all about road safety awareness and behavioural change among motorcyclists and the youth, who are said to have the highest fatality rate in road accidents in Malaysia. So for 2018, Shell Malaysia has launched another round of it this #SSS campaign with four major programmes aimed at putting through the importance of road safety among the target audience.

Recently it has been like the whole passenger car industry is just coming out with SUVs or pick up trucks rather than normal cars these days. It started off with our review of the Volkswagen Tiguan Highline, then BMW Malaysia launched some Sport Activity Vehicles - the X2 and X3 here , the Range Rover Velar was launched, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2 and I also put on a video or two on the Haval H2 SUV. Public Service Announcement by Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia - Don't let anything stop you from voting this GE 14!

In conjunction with the upcoming 14th Malaysian General Elections, aka GE 14, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia (Bosch AA) has collaborated with Malaysia's lip sync queen, Kak Girl. Bodybuilding isn't just for human body building. If you are in the trucking industry it also means customising  cargo carrying bodies for trucks. There are a select few of these coachbuilding or customised bodybuilders in the industry and truck and bus manufacturers depend on them to build up the bare truck or bus chassis. So recently, Isuzu Malaysia recently conducted a special gathering session for Isuzu truck bodybuilders, from 13 th to 14 th April 2018, at the Ombak Villa in Langkawi, Kedah to give them the opportunity to get to know the latest Isuzu has to offer in terms of their commercial vehicles and also get detailed product training.
