Local motoring website Drive Safe and Fast (dsf.my) together with Allianz General Insurance Company recently held their VOTY or Vehicle of the Year awards. The new Proton Saga was awarded Compact Sedan of the Year.
The Saga is good value for money actually. I personally would recommend it to those that want to get the best bang for buck in terms of comfort and refinement. The car brings some much needed driving fun at the most affordable end of the market and for that it also gets my vote!

PROTON SAGA IS COMPACT SEDAN OF THE YEAR
Subang Jaya, 16 May 2017 – PROTON Holdings Berhad (“PROTON” or “the Company”) received another recognition for its Proton Saga, which won the Compact Sedan of the Year Award at the recent Vehicle of the Year Award. The third generation Saga was launched on 28 September 2016, staying true to its DNA as the people’s car by being the most affordable sedan in the country. The event, which was held at Kuala Lumpur, was hosted by a renowned motoring site, Drive Safe and Fast and Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad.

The new Saga has come a long way since its introduction in 1985 as a lot of improvements, enhancements and refinements have gone into the making of the new Saga. The new Saga now has a quieter cabin due to the reduction of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), a more stylish design, practicality, safety, convenience and comfort. Among the other accolades received by the new Proton Saga since its launch last year were The Rising Star by ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards 2016 and Value for Money Car Award from Malaysia Car of the Year 2016.
"The Premium 1.3L variant, comes equipped with advanced safety features such as the ESC, ABS, EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill-hold assist, airbags, ISOFIX and top-tether, with all-round sensors at just RM45,800.
