Motorsport: Tengku Djan, the Malaysian race car driver extraordinaire returns to the Drifting scene representing MAXXOIL Malaysia

It has been awhile since Tengku Djan has participated in the motorsport called Drifting. So after a four year hiatus from the sport, he has now returned to represent MaxxOil Malaysia's drift team together with Charles Ng, from Hong Kong. Together, they will participate in the upcoming Drift Competition 2017 at the Songkhla Speedway in Amphoe Hat Yai, Thailand.

Tengku Djan (above, right pictured together with Charles Ng on the left) will be driving his MaxxOil sponsored Nissan Silvia Chevy LS7. The car is built up to the competition’s specifications and Formula Drift USA’s regulations. The 'Chevy LS7' moniker refers to its7.0-litre V8 engine The car was last used in 2011 in the Thailand All Star Professional Drift Series under Red Bull Team Thailand where Tengku Djan won both driver and team championship. Charles would be driving a similar car but it will be equipped with a straight-6 turbocharged engine instead of that huge V8 monster.

Prior to this, Tengku Djan was concentrating his efforts on circuit racing and it could be said that this would be a return to what he is best known for, drifting.

Speaking about MaxxOil Malaysia, the brand is relatively new but are ambitious and intend to make inroads especially with their new Maxx N' Go smartphone application which allows you to utilise MaxxOil's mobile oil change service. The service is quite innovative in that they actually change the engine oil where your car is located rather than you going to a regular service center for it.
