Earlier today GIGA Shipping, a subsidiary of Giga Maritime Group took delivery of two HINO SG2PDPA Prime Mover / Truck Carriers. The handover ceremony took place in HINO 3S dealer center, Soon Seng Truck & Parts Sdn Bhd. in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. It was attended by Mr. Ken Iwamoto, Managing Director of Hino Motor Sales Malaysia who presented the trucks to Datuk Kumar Prabakaran, Managing Director of GIGA .
GIGA provides “Total door to door logistics for complete built up vehicles” with complete transportation solutions that include Roll On/Roll Off (RoRo) ocean going vessels and road going vehicle transporters. If you see a car that is an imported unit from around Asia, chances are they've been brought in and transported by GIGA.
Anyway, the HINO Truck Carriers were chosen by GIGA because they believe in the product (and after sales package) offered. This, and the fact that they already operate up to 57 HINO trucks of various models. Standardization is the key to keeping operating costs in check as is the trust and belief in the product offered by HINO. I suppose the choice made by GIGA is sound as they are the winners of the Malaysia Niche Logistics Service Provider 2016 award by Frost & Sullivan.
As for the truck, the HINO SG2PDPA Prime Mover Truck is equipped with a 320PS engine which is sufficient enough to meet the logistic requirements of hauling light trucks (cars would not be an issue obviously). It can carry up to 4 units of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) trucks,3 to 4 units of mini bus chassis at any one time aside from passenger cars. The trailer body is also equipped with an adjustable ramp to meet the need of carrying different size trucks.
The HINO SG2PDPA prime mover is equipped with Full Air Brake System that helps effectively improve breaking performance even in extreme operating conditions. Other interesting details include the fact that in the event of a head-on collision, the specially designed telescopic and tilt steering column (a locking device, recirculating ball with hydraulic booster system) will assist in absorbing some of the impact providing better protection for the driver.
On another note, HINO has managed to achieve sales of 2,551 units in the first half of 2016 despite the challenges of a sluggish automotive market. No doubt this is due to product strength, affordable pricing and good aftersales.

6th October 2016, Negeri Sembilan: Hino Motors Sales (M) Sdn Bhd – HMSM recently announced the
handover of 2units HINO truck carrier to Giga Shipping Sdn. Bhd (GIGA). HINO truck carrier model SG2PDPA was selected because of its proven performance in the history of GIGA operations.
The vehicle is equipped with 320PS engine which is sufficient enough to meet the logistic requirements. It carries 4 units of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) truck 4 or 3 units of mini bus chassis at ny one time.
