The ASEAN NCAP test programme continues where three cars were recently given the ASEAN NCAP 5 star rating for their crash test ratings. The New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) performed its latest crash tests exercise for the second quarter of 2018 on three models sold within the ASEAN region. The three models which were tested on their crash- worthiness were the Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid (above), Toyota Rush and Toyota C-HR.

BMW Group Malaysia and Malaysian partner, Sime Darby Auto Engineering (SDAE), have officially opened their new SDAE Engine Assembly Facility in Kulim, Kedah. The new engine assembly plant sits on a land site of over 6 acres in size and has a built-up area space of 8,500 square metres. It was made possible with an investment of over RM 132 million by SDAE. It represents a major milestone in terms of the Malaysian automotive industry as well as a major step by BMW Group here in this region.

SOCAR, The Car-Sharing Service Adds 50 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 To Service The Klang Valley

A fleet of 50 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 will be made available to the general public under SOCAR, the car-sharing service where people can use several types of cars via a smartphone application. These will be in use in and around the Klang Valley at the moment and is another form of ride-sharing. Opinion: Bogward Previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 - Thoughts on the Bogward BX5 & BX7 Models

Bogward, the recently resurfaced German brand has shown its face here in Malaysia at the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2018 where they previewed their BX5 and BX7 models. This the the second time the Bogward name has been used, the first, and original Bogward started producing cars under various nameplates like Goliath, Hansa Lloyd and also Bogward from the 1920s to about 1963 when the company was forced into liquidation. Their most famous model was the Bogward Isabella, which was produced in both sedan and coupe forms.
