Third Generation KIA PICANTO to be Launched on the 10th of January 2018!

NAZA Kia is set to launch the third generation Kia Picanto on the 10th of January 2018 - only a week to be exact. This comes just after its preview at many Kia Red Cube showrooms nationwide as well as its preview at the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2017. [UPDATE - The launch article is here]

According to the official announcement, the all-new Picanto will have a lot of engineering work done underneath making it safe and strong for its passengers. It will also be specced with a large touchscreen infotainment system and have a super practical interior too.

The All-New Kia Picanto will be launched  to the Malaysian market on 10 th January 2018 and will be on display at selected Kia Showrooms in Peninsular Malaysia. As for East Malaysia Kia fans, the All-New Kia Picanto will be available as early as next month. So it is no longer a long wait for people over in Sabah and Sarawak. 

As for the very important fact of how much it will cost, Naza Kia has not made that announcement as yet but it will be close to the earlier model which was prices at around RM61,000+. 

It should come with a 1.25 litre naturally-aspirated DOHC four-cylinder engine as before and this tiny powerplant makes 83 hp at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Power goes to the front wheels via a 4 speed automatic transmission. The previous Picanto sold here was offered with a manual gearbox. Many industry pundits are saying that it will not be offered here again due to low demand. Let's wait and see.

Anyway, if you are in and around One Utama shopping centre on the 10th to the 14th there will be a Kia roadshow held in conjunction to the launch of the Picanto. Other Kia models will be on display especially the new Optima GT at the Kia on Tour Roadshow at Highstreet One Utama. There will be surprises in store for everyone at the roadshow according to Naza Kia.
