Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia made it an extra-memorable Christmas for the children at the children’s ward of Hospital Wanita dan Kanak- kanak Sabah, Likas, Kota Kinabalu when they contributed books, bags and stationary in support of the radio station, Kupikupifm and their DJs, Cheer to Patient CSR Programme. It made a lot of kids smile obviously.
It is rare that we get to hear of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) events from East Malaysia but it is great that Ford and SDAC have chosen to make an effort and go make life better for the people over there too.
If you folks aren't aware, their partners in this initiative is Kupi-Kupi FM. This is a radio station from Sabah, Malaysia. The station features topics ranging from customs and traditions to social-economic development, global and social trends, health and nutrition as well as agriculture and enables local entertainers to showcase their talents with the station playing 80% Sabahan songs. It can also be heard from Kuala Penyu to Kota Belud and plans to expand transmission to other parts of Sabah in future. A very Sabah-centric radio station if I might add.
Hospital Wanita dan Kanak-kanak Sabah is a small hospital focusing on obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics and is associated with the main hospital in Kota Kinabalu, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
