Grab, Southeast Asia's leading ride-sharing or ride-hailing company has a new partner here in Malaysia. Grab Malaysia has teamed up with Maxx 'N Go, which is under the Maxxoil brand. Both have their similarities where Grab utilises smartphone apps for people to hail rides whilst Maxx 'N Go uses smartphone apps to hail oil change servicing for vehicles.
The co-branding partnership makes sense as both companies deal with cars and also online technology. Working together will enable both parties to gain new ground within the automotive and transport industries. These companies are considered pioneers in their fields as in terms of ride-sharing, Grab has been a Malaysian pioneer. In terms of Maxxoil via its Maxx 'N Go service hailing platform, they are the first to offer oil change services at your doorstep via smartphone application.
For Grab their benefits of the partnership are that since their Drivers are constantly on the go, the vehicles they use to transport customers will have mileage added to their cars very quickly. With the extra miles, the regular oil change servicing would come soon after that. Maxx ‘N Go will in turn provide these Grab cars with the required service in a very convenient way and at special rates, so they can save time, money, and get back on the road in no time. Maxx 'N Go operates mobile service vans that go to the customer rather than the customer coming to them for an oil change service.
The partnership with Maxx ‘N Go also encourages drivers to join Grab’s platform rather than their competitors, as it lessens drivers’ burden when it comes to car maintenance due to the discount given and the convinience of the Maxx 'N Go service coming to where they are. Grab Drivers can enjoy a semi-synthetic engine oil change service with Maxx ‘N Go for only RM99 net, while a fully synthetic service will cost RM179 net. Even I am impressed at the cost. It is affordable especially since the price includes the oil filter. It does make sense for the Grab partner drivers to use this service to keep their cars in good condition.
Aside from the benefits given to Grab Malaysia, they ride sharing company will help to promote Maxx ‘N Go to the general public with eye-catching advertising sticker wrapping on some of their GrabCars. This will increase Maxx ‘N Go’s brand visibility here. This is over and above getting oil change business from Grab partner drivers using the Maxx ‘N Go’s platform and its price benefits.
Other joint initiatives that will come under this partnership are Grab’s #Better365 which is aimed at improving the lives of their partner drivers, as well as Maxx ‘N Go‘s presence on their GrabAllStars driver rewards program.
Grab Malaysia hosted a flag off event to officially introduce the new Maxx 'N Go sticker-wrapped Grab Cars to the public recently. The event was attended by Maxx ‘N Go Technical Director Tengku Djan Ley and Chief Operating Officer Alan Tam, Grab Malaysia’s Driver Marketing Manager Jenn Wei, Tang Wyman, Strategic Partnership Business Development Manager for Grab, as well as invited Grab Car drivers and guests.
