The Hyundai IONIQ Wins 2017 Green Good Design Award

The Hyundai IONIQ has won another award. This time this eco-car has garnered the 2017 Green Good Design Award from  the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The Green Good Design Awards™ celebrate important examples of sustainable designs and provide awareness on what companies are designing and producing to make the most positive impact on the environment.

IONIQ is the first eco vehicle in the world to offer three distinct electrified powertrains on a single, dedicated vehicle platform – the IONIQ Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric models. Hyundai Motor’s IONIQ line-up calls upon two key factors, efficiency and technology, in its design, which combine to create both a unique and forward-looking appearance.

I actually like this car a lot after I managed to have a go in the Ioniq Hybrid HEV Plus that is sold here in Malaysia. It does feel innovative and very cleverly engineered. It definitely saves fuel yet it is solidly built. Good materials used throughout the cabin and that 265Nm of torque produced by the hybrid drivetrain allows something which I like - effortless progress. All from something with a 1.6liter petrol engine (and motor). Oh, bloody refined too. So quiet even when the engine comes on.

Do have a read at the test drive experience here.
