The Isuzu Mu-X SUV recently celebrated its first anniversary of its launch in Malaysia and in honour of the occasion, Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd decided to do something slightly different - they organised a fishing fest for the MU-X owners and other guests. The fishing fest and contest was held at a fishing pond in Pulau Indah, Port Klang and everyone had fun by the looks of it.
There were about 50 participants in the Isuzu MU-X Fishing Fest. They were able to experience the thrill of catching their own fish at the one-acre salt water pond stocked with more than three tonnes of siakap (barramundi), jenahak (golden snapper) and kerapu (grouper). Quite large by the looks of it. But don't ask me, I only know how to eat them...preferably deep fried, with batter and some tartare sauce. Chips on the side.
Anyway, the Isuzu MU-X Fishing Fest offered two Grand Prizes comprising camping sets worth RM3,000 each from Coleman. The prize for the heaviest fish was won by Muhammad Nazirul Fikri bin Samsudin. The 27-year old from Sungai Buloh managed to hook up a 4.6 kilogramme Tiger Grouper just in time. Azley Tsia (pictured below - right) and Mohammad Azran both caught three ikan bulan each to be declared joint winners in the most number of fish caught category.
A fishing fest actually suits the Isuzu MU-X to the tee. The event matches the robust, reliable SUV that is suited for the outdoors and anything to do with it. Whether for work at a site or for carrying outdoor hobby equipment, a MU-X would be able to do it well. I mean, Isuzu builds and sells only commercial vehicles, pick-ups and SUVs. Being focused gives you an ability to make your product as best as it can be. So the MU-X is a pretty good SUV if you are serious in the outdoor sort of life.
So aside from the fishing, Coleman, the outdoor recreational specialist brand, took the opportunity to inspire Isuzu MU-X owners to ‘own the weekend’. Isuzu Malaysia featured four units of the Isuzu MU-X as the main ‘models’ and equipped them with stuff from Coleman. Coleman designed a ‘glamping’ showcase that dispelled any doubts that camping could be comfortable and even luxurious. This would give the MU-X owners some idea of what they can do next.
