Perodua President and CEO, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh had said that the PYTP is one of Perodua annual Corporate Responsibility programme which falls under their “empowering youth through education” pillar. Over 500 people were graduated from the PYTP programme since it began in the year 1999. And amazingly, out of the 500 graduates, 397 people were employed by Perodua.

The programme accepts in SPM candidates, who are more inclined towards vocational and technical learning compared to those inclined in academic pursuits - youngsters who are more skilled with their hands and in making, repairing or building things instead of using the pen and paper or word processing software. Perodua provides lodging, food, transportation, basic medical facilities and a monthly allowance for the chosen students who only have to worry about making the grade and passing.

This years’ PYTP intake included 7 additional students under the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN)’s Perbadanan Tabung Kemahiran (PTPK) or the Skilled Fund Corporation in English, to be part of this programme. Perodua's CEO mentioned that the company believes in sharing their success with Malaysia and Malaysians. Knowledge and self-reliance are the best tools to empower Malaysian youths.
Congratulations to those that have graduated.
