Season 3 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival and the Toyota Vios Challenge Starts Tomorrow in Kuala Terengganu

Tomorrow is the opening round of Season 3 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Festival. It will happen on friday and saturday, the 6th and 7th of September 2019 over at The Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Terengganu. If you are in the vicinity from 10am onwards on those two days, there will be lots of motorsport and Toyota activity for you to witness. It is going to feature the Toyota Vios Challenge on the track with celebrity, amateur and professional racing drivers competing in threeclasses of saloon car racing (Promotional, Sporting and Super Sporting classes respectively) in the one-make Toyota Vios Challenge. Off track, lots of stuff will be happening for everyone.

Special Service Campaign - UMW Toyota Needs You To Send In Certain Toyota Models For Another Airbag Inflator Fix - Better Get It Done Folks!

The official arm of Toyota here in Malaysia has issue a Special Service Campaign (SSC), or service recall, for certain  Toyota models which were previously affected by the previous free airbag inflator service fixes. This is because some of the replacement airbag inflator are still faulty. This Takata airbag debacle is still ongoing. I have to say that Takata has made life difficult for everyone in recent times. Anyway, the affected models are about 41,000 Toyota Vios, Corolla Altis, Camry made between 2001 to 2013.

Bosch Launches ‘Heels & Wheels’ Car and Road Safety Workshop for Women with Emphasis on Car Maintenance Knowledge and the Importance of Child Safety Restraint Systems

Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Malaysia (Bosch AA) have launched their 'Heels & Wheels' Car and Road Safety workshop for women. This corporate social responsibility programme was initiated in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development together with the support of PROTON, Petron and Road Safety Department of Malaysia (JKJR). The workshop aimed to educate and empower women drivers to better understand their own car and also inculcate road safety amongst the participants.

The Perodua Bezza is The Best Selling Sub 1.0liter Car in Sri Lanka

Quite and interesting bit of export news this. The Perodua Bezza, which has been on sale over in the island nation of Sri Lanka, has become the country's best-selling new sub-1.0 litre sedan beating out the likes of the Kia Picanto 1.0 and also the Hyundai Grand i10 (something we still don't get over here). To date, the Bezza sedan has found around 1,500 new owners there.

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, have just launched the New Peugeot 3008 SUV Plus and New Peugeot 5008 SUV Plus. The Last Overland Expedition Makes a Stop in Kuala Lumpur - From Singapore to London in a 1955 Land Rover Series I Much Like The First One in 1955

The Last Overland expedition by the 1955 Oxford Land Rover from London to Singapore, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, the 26th of August 2019  after flagging off in Singapore on the 25th of August. This very unique Land Rover expedition team started their journey from Singapore to London on Sunday and it, in some ways traces what could be one of the most historic automotive events of the 20th Century. The team aims to recreate the original 1955 route charted by The Oxford & Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition (The First Overland). And this, is the Last Overland, which basically uses one of the two Land Rover Series I used in the First Overland expedition. The adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' does not come across in this case. Mercedes-Benz has not been keeping quiet and now, the brand with the Three Pointed Star has a newly refreshed Autohaus at Cycle & Carriage Bintang's Autohaus in Mutiara Damansara. This features Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's newest brand presence which could actually be setting a new benchmark in the retail industry. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is an icon. It brought out the first ever successful formula for what a hot hatch should be. Some argued that it may not have been the first ever hot hatch, but whatever the case, the Golf GTI perfected that formula. That formula you see today is basically a mass production hatchback, most likely front wheel driven that was upgraded with a very powerful engine and suspension to suit. UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) Expresses Massive Regret For The Incident At Its Dealer Where The Malaysian Flag Was Flown Upside Down

UMW Toyota released an official statement on the recent debacle where its authorised dealer in Kuantan had flown the Malaysian flag upside down at its dealership. It may have been an accident but many actually raised concern on social media platforms. Of course, flying a nation's flag the wrong side round is indeed an insult. But obviously a multi-national company like Toyota would never have done it intentionally.
