UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) Expresses Massive Regret For The Incident At Its Dealer Where The Malaysian Flag Was Flown Upside Down

UMW Toyota released an official statement on the recent debacle where its authorised dealer in Kuantan had flown the Malaysian flag upside down at its dealership. It may have been an accident but many actually raised concern on social media platforms. Of course, flying a nation's flag the wrong side round is indeed an insult. But obviously a multi-national company like Toyota would never have done it intentionally.

And so UMW Toyota have apologised for the massive mistake done by their dealer and corrective action...i.e the flag is now in its correct position, and most likely the management of that dealership will forever make sure the Jalur Gemilang is displayed properly. Of course, right now, the backlash is strong. Go over to google maps and even on the dealership's review page, some are hammering them silly.

Never, ever take things like this for granted people. Sometimes a small black blemish may ruin what greatness a company has done. Personally, I don't blame the holding company here, I blame the dealer as Toyota has invested a whole lot into Malaysia over the years.
