Bermaz, the good people who are the authorised distributors of Mazda in Malaysia, will be having a roadshow at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall starting from September 4 to September 9, 2019. The highlight of the roadshow is the preview of the soon to be launched 2019 Mazda CX-5 SKYACTIV-G 2.5liter Turbo which will be displayed alongside the current range of Mazda models sold here.
The 2019 New Mazda CX-5 is an exclusive preview for customers and this latest CX-5 will come with a host of new (previously not offered here) technological features that enhances the vehicle’s comfort and convenience, driving stability and performance. Of course the hot news is the introduction of the new SKYACTIV-G 2.5L Turbocharged AWD variant. This eagerly awaited new variant comes with something a lot of Malaysians are interested in, which is a turbocharged petrol engine (somehow more so than the torque rich turbodiesel variant already on offer).
This new engine variant come with a 2.5liter SKYACTIVE-G engine which makes 230ps and 430 Nm torque. Mazda's engineers have stated that they have tried to design the engine to feel like a large normally aspirated engine rather than a turbocharged one. It would mean a smoother, more linear type of acceleration and something that could also be good for overall refinement, which is also a good thing.
Over in Japan, this variant comes with either 2 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive. Both of these variants are however only available with the 6 Speed Automatic transmission and SKYACTIVE Vehicle Dynamics. In other words, it would have nearly all the specs fitted to a top of the range CX-5 variant. Bermaz has stated that pricing and full specification (we will see what goodies the new turbocharged petrol/gasoline will come with) will be announced at a later date.
This new variant of the popular Mazda SUV will be open for booking during the roadshow and will be introduced to the market very soon.
