Sani Express Upgrades its Fleet With 23 new Scania Buses


Sani Express Sdn Bhd (Sani Express) took delivery of 23 new Scania K410EB6X2 buses at theTerminal Bersepadu Selatan (South Integrated Terminal) in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kuala Lumpur. This is part of the company's business practice of upgrading its express bus fleet to provide customers with comfortable, safe, and greener travel. It also shows a company willing to accept more progress and technology in their transport business.



The handover ceremony which took place saw the first batch of the new Scania 410hp 6x2 axle express buses being officially handed over to Sani Express by Marie Sjödin Enström, Scania Southeast Asia Managing Director. The Group Managing Director of Sani Express, Wan Mohd Iskandar Dato’ Salleh had stated that the reasons the company chose Scania buses as part of their latest round of fleet upgrade was for their  performance, reliability, safety, and lower fuel consumption.

Sani Express is one of the few Malaysian express bus companies that actually refreshes their bus fleet every 5 or 6 years. This is quite a commendable business approach as it keeps their vehicles in operable condition as well as making it comfortable for their customers.

“It is important for us to refresh our buses every five years in order to provide our customers with the best service and Scania buses have proven themselves to be the right vehicles for our passengers. The new Scania buses would give us the opportunity to continue providing our customers with comfortable and worry free travel,” said Iskandar.

The Scania’s K410EB6X2 buses purchased are specified out with Scania Opticruise function, low noise levels with full air suspension for better comfort levels, electronic braking system (EBS), Scania Retarder, traction control, better fuel economy with a higher torque at lower revs engine, and fully adjustable steering wheel and hanging pedals for the comfort of the driver. The buses are also subscribed to Scania's Fleet Management System Control 5 package and also Scania Driver Training to ensure their drivers have the knowledge to drive efficiently and safely. These features along with the subscribed packages result in a bus that is safe, comfortable and fuel efficient for long distance travel with minimised impact to the environment. It can also be said that the driver would also less driver's fatigue driving a bus which such creature comforts.


Aside from the above packages, Sani Express is also a Scania Ecolution partner as part of the company’s sustainability efforts to reduce their fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The Ecolution partnership focuses on reducing operating cost, which translate to improved profitability while fulfilling the growing demand for green initiatives. 

Sani Express is a well established Malaysian bus express company. It first started out business in 2006 and offers bus services to almost 30 destinations across Peninsular Malaysia. Notable destinations include Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Besut, Kota Bharu, Kuantan, Alor Star, Kangar, and Kuala Perlis. The company currently operates a total of 45 Scania buses in their fleet and has been a Scania customer since 2008.
