VIDEO: One Lap Track Review of the 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S (992) at the Sepang Circuit

We have another video out folks. If you follow our Facebook page, our Instagram feed or our YouTube channel directly, you would have caught parts of it or the whole thing already. But if you haven't, here is another place where you are informed of our latest video - the One Lap Track Review of the 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S (Type 992). This happened during the 2019 Porsche Sportscar Together Day at the Sepang Circuit. Driven by Yours Truly of course!

As you are aware, we had done another talk through video of the 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S when it was launched here just recently. This time, we were given the opportunity to try it round Sepang, albeit just one in and out lap of the glorious racetrack. We managed to cut together this video which shows off how the new 911 performs on track. The car is good...quite obvious.

Details of the specifications are in the earlier video which I have added below but essentially this latest 911 comes with a 3.0liter twin turbocharged flat-6 which makes 450hp and 530Nm torque. Still rear engined (to an extent) and just rear wheel drive. It feels normally aspirated in its power delivery, like a big 3.6 liter engine or sorts. This is a good thing as I personally love having immediate throttle response and minimal lag when I stomp of the happy pedal

All of the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via Porsche's 8 speed PDK or dual clutch transmission. That gearbox is snappy and quick on the upshifts AND the downshifts. Very sweet gearbox and when you add that to a crisp throttle pedal, as well as that mostly uncorrupted steering wheel, the new 922 Carrera S works on track. 450hp and 530Nm torque is actually enough on track if  you master this car.

While this new Carrera S has the wide arch platform of the 4S, meaning there should be more grip to its chassis, it still requires some understanding of how the car works as no other sportscar today has the engine stuck right at the rear and powering the rear wheels (the Carrera 4S with its all-wheel drive could be an easier car to tame). It is a fabulous car and a fabulous drive.

Watch the video folks.
