Super good news! If you want to buy a Volkswagen that is! Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced an extension of the tax holiday for its range of models with the Price Protection Scheme. According to the good folks at VPCM, the Scheme will cover all Volkswagen models registered from now till 15 th November 2018 and it is while stocks last.
Now while stocks last means just that. If say you wanted a Volkswagen Passat 1.8 in a certain colour and Volkswagen say that they have one unit in that colour left, you better make up your mind quickly. This is definitely a good thing if you really need a car and this could be the last chance to buy a car with zero GST or SST ever. Well, unless suddenly we get another change of government and the new politicians decide on something else. Oh, what a roller coaster that would be if this happens every five years or so.
Anyway, with the upcoming implementation of the Sales and Service Tax (SST) on the 1st of September 2018, VPCM have announced that any difference in the vehicle price based on the current 0% GST prices will be absorbed by them. The Scheme is applicable to all Volkswagen models sold in Malaysia, both locally assembled and imported. So you can go get that Golf you've always wanted.
However, there is also limited availability of stocks and customers should take this opportunity to place their booking for a new Volkswagen and enjoy the Price Protection Scheme to avoid disappointment.
Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM said “The response in the past three months since the announcement of 0% GST has been overwhelming and we have been trying to keep up with the demand for stock. The introduction of this Price Protection Scheme is a way for VPCM to assure our customers that we have their best interest at heart, so we urge customers to place their bookings now and enjoy the extended tax holidays”.
Right now, all Volkswagen models sold by VPCM come with 3 years free maintenance, 5 years manufacturer’s warranty and 5 years roadside assistance.
