PROTON's upgrading of its dealerships is going strong with the official opening of three new outlets since the mid of July 2018 and up to last week. Firstly, we had the PROTON Rahman Brothers 3S outlet in Shah Alam officially opened mid-July 2018, secondly, Proton Edar's 4S Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur in the first few days of August 2018 followed by the Vantage Speed 4S Outlet located at Jalan Kebun, Klang over the weekend.
All of these outlets sport PROTON's latest corporate colours and all look well equipped like the most recent one I visited - the Pantai Bahru Holdings 3S outlet in Jalan Meru, Klang. They all look spacious and can service many customers at one go. All have more than ample parking and all have over 10 work bays for cars. The customer lounge areas are also vastly improved over previous dealerships and are now more like those from more established Japanese brands in Malaysia.
Basically, all look like a variant of PROTON's own platinum level outlets like the shoowroom and facilities at the PROTON outlet in Mutiara Damansara or like the PROTON HQ - the Centre of Excellence. These newest centres actually look good and not like some run down little shoplot. Brand presence is so much more improved with these upgrades. Note that PROTON has also announced that not only the outlets are upgraded, but the level of service from the staff should be improved too.
All of these upgrades are basically to prepare PROTON and their dealership network for the new Geely based cars. This is the promise that the new management has given to improve the brand from where it stands. Of course, we shall see another step up when the actual SUV (Boyue based model) is launched soon.
RAHMAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE SDN BHD
The existing 3S outlet was enhanced and renovated to meet the new standard requirements of a 3S category outlet. Rahman Brothers are one of the first few adopters of the new dealership upgrading scheme.

The PROTON Rahman Brothers' outlet is situated in a busy commercial area, along the town’s second main road and will ensure that customers get the best sales and service experience, by ensuring it serves as a one-stop centre for their customers.
The upgraded outlet is anticipated to increase sales and service throughput by 50%. The outlet will be a prominent PROTON dealership in Shah Alam, which will enable sales and service throughput to increase. It has a large display area, 12 service bays with 9 hoists, 1 delivery bay and a fully equipped customer lounge with ample seating, kids play area, coffee and free WIFI for customers.
The Rahman Brothers 3S Centre is located at Wisma Rahman Brothers, No. 6 (Lot 38266), Persiaran Jubli Perak, Seksyen 22, 40300 Shah Alam, Selangor.
PROTON EDAR'S CHAN SOW LIN BRANCH
The existing 4S outlet i was renovated and enhanced to meet the new standard requirements of PROTON'S new standards for a 4S branch. 4S means that it covers sales, service, spare parts and body and paint. The new outlet covers an area of 14,875 square feet, the outlet is situated in a busy commercial area, which is also a car hub for most brands.

The enhancement is in line with PROTON proposition to project a new and refreshed façade. The enhancement is important to ensure that customers get the best sales and service experience, by ensuring it serves as a one-stop centre for customers’ convenience.The upgraded outlet is anticipated to increase sales and service throughput by 30%. This branch is the first Proton Edar Branch fully renovated and enhanced to comply with PROTON 4S standard requirements.
There are 18 service areas with hoists, 2 delivery bars, 53 car park spaces and a fully equipped customer lounge with WIFI and a kid's play area.

VANTAGE SPEED SDN BHD - 4S in Klang
Vantage Speed has been operating as a PROTON dealer since 2009 as 1S and 2S outlets at separate locations. However, to move in tandem with PROTON direction, to serve customers better as a one-stop centre, shareholders of Vantage Speed decided to invest in the business as a 4S centre.

This new outlet came about after the management of Vantage Speed closed its PROTON 2S outlet; Magnavision Sdn Bhd, and renovated the whole area to be the new 4S centre. However, they are maintaining their current 1S outlet in Setia Alam to continue to provide convenience to its existing customers there (this shows their commitment to the brand actually).
The outlet which is situated in an industrial area, along the town’s second main road. With a built up area of 2418 meter square, the outlet consists of 14 service bays, 10 body and paint bays, and could accommodate up to 10 vehicles in the showroom area. Customers have a customer lounge with 80 customer seating available for them with a coffee area, kids’ area, free WIFI and comfortable customer lounge area for them to relax while waiting for their cars to be serviced.
Vantage Speed foresees an increase in sales and service throughput by more than 50%. The outlet is located along Jalan Kebun in Klang, Selangor.
