PROTON has now confirmed the price for the limited to 200 packages only R3 20th Anniversary Edition accessories package for the Proton X50 at the X50 Carnival at the Proton Centre of Excellence today. This announcement basically took awhile. It comes following its unveiling at the MARii Autoshow 2023 in May of this year. I wonder why it took Proton some many months to get this into production.
Perodua has announced that they have achieved a 28.3% increase in sales for the third quarter of this year. This amounts to 88,537 units compared to 69,011 units in the same quarter of 2022 with production already going on an increase. The increase in registration was due to improvement in the manufacturing production efficiency, which saw 91,528 units made which equates to an increase of 21.7% compared with 75,196 units in the same quarter of 2022.

The Neta V compact EV has been officially launched in Malaysia. The NETA brand comes into Malaysia at its official launch earlier today and there is currently a 5-day promotion event taking place at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya this week till 29th October 2023 .

Earlier today, BMW Malaysia announced the vaailability of the New 2024 BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport, which is also locally assembled at adds another variant to the Pure Excellence variant that was unveiled earlier this year. The SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), which is BMW's way of calling their Sports Utility Vehicles will also be assembled at the BMW Assembly Plant in Kulim, Kedah. It will retail for RM718,800 on the road before insurance, which is about right for BMW's full sized, flagship series SAV.

Earlier today, at the Mercedes-Benz Autohaus in Mutiara Damansara, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the all-new full sized, all-electric luxury SUV variant, the 2023/24 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC SUV. The EQS SUV essentially is the fully electric GLS, or S-Class SUV that will offer seating for seven people in luxurious comfort and also offers connectivity for front and rear passengers. At the moment, there is one variant officially available, the EQS 580 4MATIC which is priced at RM699,888 with 10% sales tax but without insurance (in Peninsular Malaysia).

Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd yesterday introduced a new 18-litre pail for its best-selling Shell Rimula R4X heavy duty engine oil. With this new size, Shell Rimula R4X 15W 40 ,which has a RRP:of RM343.00, now makes this popular engine oil available in five different sizes to meet different needs of customers. The other sizes currently on the market are the 209-litre drum, 20-litre pail, 5-litre pail, and 1-litre pack.
Here is our preview and first opinion on the soon to be launched in Malaysian 2024 smart #1 BRABUS variant. This is built on the smart #1 Premium variant and adds twin electric motors to give it supercar levels of acceleration 0-100kmh in 3.9seconds. This is our second meeting with this crossover EV. The first was at the Proton Test Track in Shah Alam when it was all stickered up. So we got to drive it then but could not film or take photos of it.
This is a follow up of the previous article regarding the new locally assembled facelifted 2023 Porsche Cayenne. Yesterday, smart Malaysia officially revealed the range topper of its smart #1 lineup, the the #! BRABUS variant, at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) held at KLCC Convention Centre in downtown Kuala Lumpur. This is a collaboration between smart and and German tuning house BRABUS which takes the smart #1 Premium variant and adds some BRABUS performance bits to it and a twin electric motor performance powerplant, or powerplants since there are now two electric motors.
Sometime last week, Isuzu Malaysia officially opened the revamped Isuzu Temerloh 3S outlet. The centre is located along the main thoroughfare leading into town and is operated by Pacific Motor Sdn Bhd. On the 27th September 2023, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had announced the graduation of 38 apprentices from its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (AMA) Program. Aside from this news where there are now 38 more certified technicians in Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had welcomed 42 apprentices for the year 2023. This is part of the brand's continuous development of human capital here in Malaysia.
Over the past three years, the graduating batch of 38 apprentices had undergone rigorous training, culminating in their certification as globally-recognised Mercedes-Benz technicians. These newly graduated professionals are set to join the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Retail Network, which currently has over 1,000 Service Personnel. In addition, they will be offered job opportunities within the company;s Service Network for the subsequent four years. The investment per student over the three-year program is RM100,000.
