First Locally Produced JAECOO J7 Rolls Off The Line In Malaysia - CHERY Malaysia invests in dedicated assembly line for JAECOO

 CHERY Auto Malaysia Sdn Bhd, officially launched the CHERY Corporate Malaysia Factory in Shah Alam, Selangor. The new assembly plant will be the first in the ASEAN region to produce the soon to be launched premium off road SUV, the JAECOO J7 in Malaysia.  Aside from that piece of good news, CHERY Malaysia also state that they plan to use the facilities as a base to conduct Research and Development for their right-hand drive cars for brands under the CHERY group..

Perodua performing extremely well recording 28.3% jump in the 3rd Quarter 2023 sales figures - YTD registers 230,000 Perodua vehicles



Perodua has announced that they have achieved a 28.3% increase in sales for the third quarter of this year. This amounts to 88,537 units compared to 69,011 units in the same quarter of 2022 with production already going on an increase. The increase in registration was due to improvement in the manufacturing production efficiency, which saw 91,528 units made which equates to an increase of 21.7% compared with 75,196 units in the same quarter of 2022.

Proton Officially Announces the Roll-Out of the First Proton X70 SUV at its New Plant Extension in Tanjung Malim


About a year since the Proton X70 SUV was launched in Malaysia, PROTON has announced the official roll out of the first X70 to be built at its new RM1.2 billion plant extension in Tanjung Malim.  The roll-out ceremony was attended by the Honourable Datuk Darell Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of PROTON, Mr An Conghui, President and CEO of Geely Auto Group as well as senior management members of PROTON.

The 2019 Perodua Myvi is Launched in Mauritius - One of Perodua's Oldest Export Markets Now Gets The Malaysian Best Seller!


The 2019 Perodua Myvi is now being sold in Mauritius. Perodua's distributor in Mauritus, Raouf Dusmohamud & Co Ltd, have launched the Myvi 1.3 G AT and 1.5 H AT variants and they are respectively priced at 699,000 (RM81,300*) and 775,000 (RM90,140*) Mauritian Rupees, on-the-road with insurance. The third generation Perodua Myvi made its Mauritian debut last Friday at the Defi Media Motor Show, which took place at the Swami Vivekananda International Conference Centre over the weekend.

The Latest Bits of News on Proton and the Upcoming Geely-Proton Boyue SUV


The first of Proton's upgraded dealerships was officially launched yesterday. It is hoped that the upgrade of all the 3S and 4S centres as per target, will help grow PROTON’s market share in line with the Company’s goals. To-date 75% target achieved or 82 outlets approved for upgrading for the year. It is hoped that by next year, there will be up to 109 dealerships with 3S or 4S standards.

TOC Automotive College has entered into an Internship Partnership Agreement with MisterTyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd. This programme will allow TOCs studens to have on-the-job practical work training with MisterTyre which could be the first company to actually launch a mobile application that offers its customers new tyres, wheel fitting, alignment, engine oil service and battery right to your doorstep or anywhere you are currently at.

Hyundai opens its fourth plant in China and launches a China only model - the Hyundai Verna Yuena

Hyundai Motor Company has opened its fourth manufacturing plant in China in the city of Cangzhou in north eastern China. The new plant, Beijing Hyundai Motor Company Cangzhou Branch, has an annual capacity of 300,000 units. Hyundai Motor Company aims to seize the initiative in China with its ‘New Plant, New Model and New Strategy’ approach.

The Hyundai Motor company is the 35th biggest brand in the world according to Interbrand, a leading  consultancy company that mainly deals with branding and its net contribution to the value of a company. The Korean company also moved up one place to 6 th in the global automotive industry top 10 brands, ahead of Audi, Volkswagen, Nissan and Porsche and is the 4 th most valuable high-volume automotive brand.

FORD Targets Self Driving Vehicles for Ride Sharing in 2021 as it invests a whole lot in the tech and people required.


A week ago Ford, over in the USA had announced its intent to have a high-volume, fully autonomous SAE level 4-capable vehicle in commercial operation in 2021 in a ride-hailing or ride-sharing service. This could mean that your taxi, UBER, GRAB car or those with the same description would actually pick you up and send you somewhere without any one driving the vehicle.
