smart #1 BRABUS Makes Its First Public Debut in Southeast Asia at the International Electric Mobility Showcase, Kuala Lumpur

Yesterday, smart Malaysia officially revealed the range topper of its smart #1 lineup, the the #! BRABUS variant, at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) held at KLCC Convention Centre in downtown Kuala Lumpur. This is a collaboration between smart and and German tuning house BRABUS which takes the smart #1 Premium variant and adds some BRABUS performance bits to it and a twin electric motor performance powerplant, or powerplants since there are now two electric motors.

The smart #1 BRABUS pays homage to over two decades of innovation, performance, and individuality. BRABUS, which is known for tuning and tweaking up Mercedes-Benz vehicles, brings its expertise to create their take on the #1. This High performance variant will be on sale when the smart #1 range is launched here by the end of this year.

The unveiling at IEMS was attended by YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Plantations and Commodities, together  with YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science,Technology and Innovation. The event was also witnessed by YB Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PROTON, En Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of PROTON, and Mr. Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pro-Net. This momentous occasion took place during the opening day of IEMS.

smart Malaysia’s participation at the International Electric Mobility Showcase (IEMS) 2023 is one of the company’s first steps towards supporting Malaysia’s sustainability goals. The smart #1 BRABUS variant is designed for high-performance enthusiasts vs the regular #1 Pro and Premium variants. It does 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds. It makes 315kW/543Nm from its Dual-motor All-Wheel-Drive powertrain, delivering unrivaled agility and traction for an exhilarating supercar experience in a crossover hatchback body. 

The vehicle boasts a dynamic and aerodynamic exterior, complemented by a luxurious interior featuring premium materials. The smart #1 BRABUS comes with the exclusive ";BRABUS" interior, and its exterior colors offer seven different color combinations. If you choose the Radiant Red roof, you can select from Atom Grey – Matte, Meta Black, and Cyber Silver exterior colors. If you prefer the Black roof, you have options of Digital White, Laser Red, and Cyber Silver. Lastly, there is Atom Grey– Matte, which also comes with an exclusive matte body-colored roof.
