Here is our preview and first opinion on the soon to be launched in Malaysian 2024 smart #1 BRABUS variant. This is built on the smart #1 Premium variant and adds twin electric motors to give it supercar levels of acceleration 0-100kmh in 3.9seconds. This is our second meeting with this crossover EV. The first was at the Proton Test Track in Shah Alam when it was all stickered up. So we got to drive it then but could not film or take photos of it.
This time, we get to take photos and video it, but couldn't take it out for a spin without any camo on. Such is life. We won't get one or the other until it is launched here I guess.
So this is our walkaround on its specs, how we think it is put together and our opinion of it. I did in on video as I think that it would be easier to listen to me blabber on it or look at the moving picture of the smart #1 BRABUS.

Basic thoughts about this is that it is fast to 100kmh at 3.9seconds. But due to its single speed transmission, it maxes out at 180kmh so fun stops there I suppose. But I imagine it nice to go on B-roads. But make sure you know where to top up its charge - 400km range but if you aren't gentle with it, I think 250-300km of hard driving range is more like it.
