Isuzu Malaysia, through their dealer Indah Utara Auto Sdn Bhd recently handed over 6 new units of the Isuzu Forward medium duty truck (FVR285) to YHL Trading (KL) Sdn Bhd. YHL Trading is a subsidiary of the Sin Hock Soon Group, which mainly focuses on rice manufacturing and packaging. If you do grocery shopping, you may have seen their rice brand 'Sunflower' at the local supermarket.
Anyway, The six new trucks will join the Group’s existing fleet of 13 units of Isuzu ELF light duty trucks, which were previously purchased to serve Sin Hock Soon Transport Sdn Bhd, Sin Hock Soon Edible Oil Sdn Bhd and YHL Trading Sdn Bhd. So now the Group's fleet gets some medium duty trucks too.
The Isuzu FVR trucks purchased by YHL Trading are the FVR 285 series. You can see the model badge on the truck in the main photo above. This truck runs a straight-6 7.8liter engine which makes 285PS and 883Nm of torque and channels its power to the rear wheels via a 9 speed manual transmission. The medium duty truck comes with various configuration to suit various operators including box units, refrigerated box units, dump/tipper truck, garbage compacter and even general cargo. Quite versatile.
Of course, for YHL Trading, operating the same brand makes it easier to maintain their fleet of trucks under one roof. This is essential these days when it comes to commercial vehicle purchases.

Trust and Reliability at the heart of ISUZU
A partnership in mutual trust and dependability goes a long way, as witnessed during
the recent handover of six new units of Isuzu Forward medium duty trucks to YHL
Trading (KL) Sdn Bhd. The units were procured from Indah Utara Auto Sdn Bhd, a
Northern-based authorised dealership under Isuzu Malaysia. Indah Utara is also one
of the four Isuzu Authorised MHD (Medium & Heavy Duty) Truck Dealers in
Malaysia.
YHL Trading is a subsidiary of the Sin Hock Soon Group, which mainly focuses on
rice manufacturing and packaging. The Isuzu trucks are set to be the driving force in
providing reliable and time-efficient transportation for the company’s variety of rice
products, under the well-known retail brand, Sunflower.
The six new trucks will join the Group’s existing fleet of 13 units of Isuzu ELF light
duty trucks, which were previously purchased to serve Sin Hock Soon Transport Sdn
Bhd, Sin Hock Soon Edible Oil Sdn Bhd and YHL Trading Sdn Bhd.
Sin Hock Soon and its subsidiary companies have staunchly relied on Isuzu
Malaysia’s capable line-up since its first purchase in 2013. In 2015, the Group
procured eight units of Isuzu ELF light duty trucks to serve Sin Hock Soon and four
more units under YHL Trading, in addition to adding another unit of Isuzu Forward
FVR285 in 2016.
During the handover ceremony, Executive Director of Isuzu Malaysia, Mikio Tsukui,
presented a mock key to Tony Yew, Director of Sin Hock Soon Group. The
ceremony was also witnessed by Indah Utara Auto Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Poh
Seng Hooi; and Sales Manager, Tok Beng Chew.
Aside from the Isuzu line-up being versatile, robust and ideal for long-distance
logistics, Mr. Yew also cited that the productive relationship with Indah Utara Auto
was also a strong deciding factor that led to its repeat purchases with Isuzu
Malaysia.
“As our business expands, we rely on a variety of factors to succeed. In this
competitive economy, we need assurance that our products will arrive on time, in a
cost-effective manner. Isuzu not only offers high-quality, reliable products, but also
complements it with great service,” said Mr. Yew.
During the ceremony, Mr. Tsukui expressed his gratitude to the Sin Hock Soon
Group for their trust in Isuzu Malaysia.
“We are fortunate that our customers consider our trucks as the ideal transportation
partner. Hence, we will continuously strive to ensure that our products and services
remain highly-dependable, to serve various business needs,” added Mr. Tsukui.
