Another year, another round of BMW Shorties. This is the eleventh time the BMW Shorties are going on and this is the longest running short film competition in the country. For BMW Shorties 2017, 10 (Updated -  it is 9 short films as the short film ‘Road to God’ by Mohd Jefri Samaroon will be excluded from the list of shortlisted films this year) finalists are now in the running for the RM75,000 film production grant that is up for grabs.

A Proton Suprima S run by Team PROTON R3 took the overall win at the recent Sepang 1000km (S1k) Endurance Race 2017. Volkswagen Will Offer Flood Relief Assistance To All Volkswagen Owners Affected By The Recent Floods

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced that they have launched a nationwide Flood Relief programme for all Volkswagen owners affected by the recent floods, which have been one of the worst, particularly in the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia. The Flood Relief programme aims to assist Volkswagen owners whose vehicles have been damaged by the floods.

I was invited to join a short session on safe driving techniques organised by the Asian Trucker Drivers Club at Scania Malaysia's main office in Shah Alam last Saturday. It was a different start to the weekend as I got the opportunity to spend some time with the people from Asian Trucker, participating members of their Asian Trucker Drivers Club as well as the folks from Scania Malaysia.

Happenings: Shell Raises RM738,000 For Five Charity Organisations Under The Shell Raya Charity Drive 2017

The Shell Raya Charity Drive is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that first Shell Malaysia kick-started 3 years ago. This annual campaign saw Shell donating 1 sen (RM0.01) for every litre of fuel pumped at its stations nationwide on June 22, 23 and 24 this year. As a result, Shell Malaysia has successfully raised RM738,000 for five (5) charity organsations this year. A fantastic amount to help those in need.

UD Trucks and sole distributor partner in Malaysia, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) recently delivered the first unit of UD Croner in Malaysia to Ong Brothers Petroleum Sdn Bhd.  The UD Croner is an all-new medium duty truck and it was only launched here in August 2017. THE ALL-NEW RENAULT MEGANE GT TO BE DISPLAYED AT THE MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW 2017

The upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2017 scheduled for the 9th to the 12th of November. Malaysia's premier autoshow will be where TC Euro Cars, official franchise holder of Renault in Malaysia, reveal the new Renault Megane GT. The Megane is Renault's C segment hatchback and it was first launched at the end of 2015 with sales first starting in Europe in July of 2016. It has taken Renault awhile to bring it over but we will finally get to see this interesting looking hatchback.

Toyota Picks Up a Gold Award in the 2017 Putra Brand Awards

Toyota again received the Gold award in the Automotive Category at the 2017 Putra Brand Awards held recently. This makes it the sixth consecutive year of winning the top award where Malaysian consumers choose their favourite and most preferred brands in the country. It is also the eighth time that the brand has received the award since the prestigious event began in 2010.

Truck News: Scania Top Team Malaysia 2017-2018 Concludes - Ipoh Service Team 'Pendekar Penyu' wins First Place

The Scania, Top Team Malaysia 2017-2018 has just concluded. This biannual competition has been organised by the Swedish truck and bus manufacturer to find the best (after sales) service team out there. This time, the team “Pendekar Penyu” (above) led by Mohd. Faizal bin Abd. Aziz,  from Scania Malaysia Ipoh Branch had been crowned champion.
