Perodua Contributes Three Units of the Perodua Bezza Sedan to the Selangor Police

Recently, compact car manufacturer Perodua, contributed three units of their popular compact sedan, the Perodua Bezza to the Selangor Police Contingent (IPK Selangor) for use as patrol cars. The three Bezza sedans have been outfitted with police equipment including radios and beacon lamps, and each of them has been assigned to the Selangor Contingent Headquarters (IPK Selangor), the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK Bukit Aman) and the Hulu Selangor District Police (IPD Hulu Selangor) respectively. This is one way Perodua has decided to give back to the state it has been manufacturing its cars in.

There was a small handover ceremony at the Selangor Police Headquarters in Shah Alam on Tuesday, where Perodua President and Chief Executive OfficerDato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad presented the keys to Selangor Police Chief Commissioner Dato’ Noor Azam Jamaludin. Also present were IPK Selangor Crime Prevention and Community Safety Head, Senior Assistant Commissioner Dato’ Kumaran Karuppannan; Bukit Aman Support Resource Coordination Chief Assistant Director, Senior Assistant Commissioner Tuan Sukardi Tulus; and Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Dr Zahari Husin.

“For the 26 years Perodua has made Selangor our home, we have been able to operate effectively and without distress due to the commendable efforts by the Royal Malaysian Police, particularly IPK Selangor, to maintain public safety, peace and harmony. We hope our humble contribution can be accepted by the police as a token of gratitude for their resolute steadfastness, fairness, dedication and courage. We salute you,” said Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad as regards the reason Perodua had decided to contribute these cars to the Police.

Note that these are Patrol Cars and not pursuit vehicles or anything like that. These are those that patrol a certain designated area and are meant for everyday policing, not for high speed chases.

“The Perodua Bezza makes an ideal patrol car as it is dependable, durable, easy to drive and cost-efficient in terms of servicing as well as fuel economy. Its compactness makes it easy to manoeuvre around tight spaces, and despite its compact size, it is commodious and comfortable inside.Factor in the largest vehicle service network in the country and I am confident the police will find the Perodua Bezza an effective and valuable companion in their community policing duties,” added Dato’ Zainal.

It is about time we had some Perodua cars in the Police force. They may not be fast, but they would get the job done in terms of community patrol and other community policing.
