Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) had earlier today unveiled new variants for their Mercedes-Benz E-Class line-up. The new variants for the Malaysian market are the all-new Mercedes-Benz E 350 AMG Line as well as the Mercedes-Benz E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde and the Mercedes-Benz E 300 Exclusive Line. These variants are priced at RM399,888 for the E 350 AMG Line as well as estimated prices for the new E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde at RM329,888 and RM 379,888 for the E300 Exclusive Line.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class range is actually part of the marque's heritage in the premium luxury vehicles segment. The large sedan has been around here for generations and many businessmen here have continued buying them over the years. This time around, the latest E-Class variants comes with a whole lot of luxurious features and stylish highlights coupled with a high-grade interior as expected from a Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz E 350 AMG Line was officially previewed today and, it expands the E-Class range here. Thes other two variants mentioned above were not displayed at today's launch event, but should be at Mercedes-Benz showrooms in due time. All will be locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz's Pekan plant.
The E 350 AMG Line is described by MBM to be the luxury performance variant with the new turbocharged 2.0- litre four-cylinder engine (with a belt driven starter-alternator (RSG) boost assist system) with 299hp and 400Nm of torque. This allows the large sized sedan to hit 0-100kmh in 5.9 seconds and onward to a maximum speed of 250kmh. Quite impressive figures for a large sedan.
Mark Raine, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of MBM said as he introduced the E 350 AMG Line, “As the vehicle of choice in the premium executive limousine segment, we are proud to introduce the all-new Mercedes-Benz E 350 AMG Line to now lead the E-Class range. The locally-assembled car also comes with a four-cylinder 2.0 engine equipped with a belt-driven starter generator and the Driving Assistance Package with state-of-the-art safety technologies”.
Raine added, “Alongside the E 350 AMG Line debut, we are also proud to introduce two new variants. These are the Mercedes-Benz E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde and the Mercedes-Benz E 300 Exclusive. New in the E 200 and the E 300 is the Blind Spot Assist and the Lane Tracking Package, respectively."
The new range of locally-assembled (CKD) Mercedes-Benz E-Class takes a step further with the latest Mercedes-Benz E 350 AMG Line, the Mercedes-Benz E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde and the Mercedes-Benz E 300 Exclusive (below - which has the traditional grille) customers will get to experience best-in-class luxury and performance at different price points and equipment levels. The E 350 AMG Line
The new E 350 with AMG line is distinguished by its brawny AMG bodystyling that enhances the sportiness and sophistication of the vehicle. It carries the modern luxury hallmark and exclusivity made possible through Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship.
The E 350 AMG Line offers the best of both worlds with the new twin- turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine in the stable. The four-cylinder twin-scroll turbochargers allow the car to produce high torque at low engine speeds with high specific output. The engine gives a total system output of 220 kW (299 hp) with a maximum torque of 400 Nm with an addition of 150 Nm boost attributed by the belt-driven starter generator, allowing it to boast an acceleration from 0 –100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
This time around, there is a Driving Assistance Package as standard. This safety package features several safety technologies, which help to avoid collision while enhancing the car’s standard safety features. The car is also equipped with the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL (air) suspension with adjustable damping between maximum agility or high damping comfort suited to the route profile and personal driving style.
The E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde
The E200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde comes with the AVANTGARDE exterior with additional chrome trim, the 18-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels. Together with the standard exterior and interior specifications, the SPORTSTYLE package comprises a chrome louvre below the front bumper, a badge on the front wing, a chrome trim element in the rear bumper in high-gloss black, as well as visible tailpipe embellishers, on
the outside.
Inside, the SPORTSTYLE package consists of the headliner in black fabric, centre console in light carbon grain aluminium trim, sport pedals in brushed stainless steel with black rubber inserts and the SPORTSTYLE package floor mats.
Its centrepiece is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, giving a total output of 145 kW (197 hp) with a maximum torque of 320 Nm. As part of the safety and assistance package, the Blind Spot Assist is new in the variant.
The E 300 Exclusive
This variant comes with the classic Mercedes radiator grille, and the iconic star on the bonnet, unlike the E 200 SPORTSTYLE Avantgarde and E 350 AMG Line which has the Three-pointed Star in the front grille. A traditional styled Mercedes-Benz for those that want the totally heritage look for their new Mercedes-Benz.
It also comes with the similar 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing a total output of 190 kW (258 hp) with a maximum torque of 370 Nm.
The E 300 Exclusive is complimented by the Lane Tracking package which includes the Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist to ensure the driver does not drift into other traffic.
