Hino Has Delivered its 100,000th Hino Truck in Malaysia - Also Records 5,520 Units Sold in 2019 Making It The No. 1 Overall Truck and Bus Market Leader Here

Last Wednesday, the 5th of February 2020, Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM)  delivered the 100,000th unit HINO truck in Malaysia. It also has shared that the company had sold 5,520 units of trucks and buses making it the overall market leader in terms of truck and bus sales in total. The 100,000th Hino vehicle was handed over to its existing customer, Ikhasas Resources Sdn Bhd (Ikhasas Resources). The joyous occasion was marked by an official handover ceremony during the Hino Chinese New Year Open House held at HMSM Headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

100,000 commercial vehicles is a large number actually. Hino Malaysia has been in the country for more than 40 years, and selling 100,000 units of Hino trucks and buses is totally a historic milestone for the Japanese company. It does show that the brand is a trusted product here and it does show with the familiar sights of Hino trucks and buses plying Malaysian roads. Of course, it is also a  lot of work aside from producing quality products alone. Hino Malaysia's team of sales and aftersales personnel seem to have captured many transporters trust and confidence over the years. Their 'Total Support' philosophy seems to ring true to their customers.

“This achievement was brought not a single-handed with our Company’s high QDR: Quality, Durability, and Reliability products but also by our Total Support values. Total Support is Hino’s unique concept. We take good care of our customers and their businesses, striving to meet their business requirements and help them to achieve their success. We keep ‘Maximise Vehicle Uptime and Minimise Vehicle Lifetime Cost’ as our fundamental and continue to build a business relationship to become our Customer’s true partner,” said Atsushi Uchiyama, Managing Director of HMSM.

“Since our establishment in Malaysia in 1977, HMSM has grown and reached the accumulated sales of 100,000 units. We are motivated to know that we have stood as part of the logistics and distribution industry in Malaysia to delivering the goods with our passion ‘Transporting Every Happiness’. Thank you to all our esteemed customers for the continuous support and trust with the HINO Brand.” added Mr. Uchiyama.

The 100,000th vehicle sales celebration was a momentous achievement, whereby Mr. Uchiyama on behalf of Hino Malaysia presented an appreciation reward to Dato’ Roslan Zainal (above left, with Mr Uchiyama), the Director of Ikhasas Resources, a trip to Japan Trip which also includes a trip to visit Hino Motors Limited's headquarters and its facilites.

The 100,000th unit truck, HINO 500 Series- is a 6x4 variant from the model FM2PN1D. According to Hino Malaysia, it is the ideal medium-heavy duty truck for operators. The HINO’s versatile and customisable chassis is part of its large range of trucks offered here in Malysia and the company will continue to offer medium-duty trucks buyers a total flexibility and satisfaction.

In terms of truck and bus sales performance by Hino Malaysia, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has released vehicle sales data by brand and HMSM had been ranked No.1 in the Overall Truck segment with a 37.0% market share. In the bus segment, HMSM has more than half of the market share in Malaysia with 61.9%. HMSM had successfully achieved sales of 5, 520 units sold with the market share 38.1% and entitled as No. 1 position in Overall Truck and Bus segment for the Malaysian market.

So it does seem that the transport industry in Malaysia is booming. While some may seem to say that times are trying or tough, it could be said that with the advent of online sales and the fact that no matter what, goods need to be transported everywhere, the demand for new commercial vehicles is a must. This news on record sales is a good sign as it does show that things are still moving in the Malaysian economy. All we need to do is try tap is for ourselves!
